Possible on-road FJC sighting in Cali

today at about 9:15AM, on Sepulveda near Culver Blvd. in Culver City. It was under wraps with a car in front of it, also under wraps. Thought it was wearing the wrap, it had the very distinctive look of the FJC. To bad I didn't think of taking a pic as I always have my digital camera with me.

You would probably have been one of the first guys to spot it on the road in person. BUT now you are fired as a spy photographer :p

I just saw it again about 20 minutes ago. The FJC was still under wraps and headed north on PCH thru south Redondo Beach. I had my dig camera in the console, but I was in the left turn lane at Palos Verdes Blvd. to turn south onto PCH. :doh: By the time I got my green arrow and flipped a u-turn, several minutes had passed. I went a few miles north on PCH hoping I'd see it pulled over at a gas station or beside the road, but it didn't happen.

To be honest with you, I'm not all that worked up about the FJC. I don't know why Toyota chose to give another wheeler (in addition to the 4th gen Runner) that squat low roofline look. Are they getting their style ques from the H2? I like the higher rooflines, less-sloped windshields and more glass look of the older Runners, cruisers, g-wagon, Land Rovers, etc. More of an expeditionary look, IMO.

i was stuck in 605 traffic with a fjc this morning. it was silver, kind of similar to the 4runner silver. the rear tire carrier shell was gun metal colored, with the letters FJ embossed (dont know if that's the right term). its a very nice looking truck imho. i was kind of suprised at how much bigger it looks in person.
