Not sure if this is what you mean but....

You can buy outlets at places like PepBoys. You can have a choice of ones that hard-wire in, or simply plug a multiple outlet into an existing outlet.

I've got a four outlet hardwired under my arm rest that runs my cell phone charger, GPS and satellite radio. I hard-wired it into the spare outlet opposite the shifter (from under the console) so its all hidden.

Some of the outlets come with a facia, others are just a small box that accomodates charger plugs. Mine is a box about the size of a cigarette box that accomodates two charger plugs from either end and has about two feet of wire that did have another charger plug on the end but I just cut it off to hardwire.

I just did this mod a few weeks ago, Toyota part number PART # 74110-35010-B0, adds a second 12V to the center console, It also adds a removable ash tray (which I use as a small trash can). I can post pics of it installed if you like.

Personally I don't like wires everywhere, thats why I prefer to have either of the two pictures above that have wire you can cut and hardwire and hide. Just my 2 cents.

I would like to have something like the 05-06 tundras.. they have 2 plugs by the passenger foot side.

I like the hardwire route. It's cleaner.

There are a lot of options!
Depending on where you want to mount them.
Marine shops (like WestMarine) have nice panel mount ones:

I threw one of these in, too. I also have a 4-plug add-on one I can plug in if I ever need more than two.

would i need to upgrade any fuses that supplies the power to the outlet located near the shifter?

Once i open up the inside of the "extra" outlet is it fairly simple which wire to connect or tap?

I assume there is only ground and power wires on the new outlets.

It's a toyota factory piece, there's nothing to splice or upgrade. It's plug and play.

:iagree

Install couldn't be easier. Your T4R is already pre-wired for this add-on.

Depending on what you plan to run on the outlets, you could tap into the existing lighter circuit, but you are limited to 10 Amps total on that circuit. This probably won't be a problem, but keep it in mind. Never install a higher amperage fuse on the circuit.

The center pin of the Cigarette Lighter Adapter is Hot (+) and the outside is ground (-) - so hooking it up is pretty simple.

If you are planning on installing other electronics - radios etc. It would be better to bring in a main power line to a fuse block, and then connect all your electronics to the fuse block. But if that is beyond your needs you should be able to tap and go.

All I did was open the center console (piece that fits around the shifter) disconnected the existing 12V plug and tapped into the wires with a 3 plug outlet.. Ran the wires to come out of the bottom next to the driver seat and mounted the 3 plug next to my leg.. Reconnected everything and all is well.. I Use my phone charger, TomTom and Ipod charger/player.. All runs fine.. End up having 4 plugs with the way I did it.. Will post pics soon if anyone is interested..

Sorry it took so long to get back..
I went to Autozone and bought a 3 way 12V adapter, cut the plug end off, opened the center console, ran the cut plug wires under so no wires show, spliced the original 12V wires and tapped the adapter wires into those (I just used electrical tape) screwed the adapter into the side of the console, and put the console back together..
Outcome: (3) 12V plugs + (1) Factory 12V plug = (4) Total 12V plugs
Total Time - 10 min
No problems and ive had it set up like this for months..

I chose this certain adapter for its plug covers in case I dont need all of the plugs all the time.. Nothing falls into them..
