When I activate my right blinkers via the stalk on the turning column, I've been having an occasional issue with them the past couple of weeks. Specifically, the slow blink becomes a sporadic, quick blink.

I've checked all the light bulbs (except reverse??), no problem there. My left blinker seems to work fine.

Any ideas? Could this be a type of warning code about something? (Like when my 1st gen cruise control wouldn't work when I would blow a brake light).

I remember after the SW bumper install, one of the LED connectors disconnnected and I had a similar issue, but that was characterized by a full-time quick-blink, and the indicator light didn't light up until I plugged the connector back together. And since then, I taped over the connectors as a precaution.

 I'm hesitant to bring it back to Torrance Toyota as they don't even know how to adjust the headlights there :pissed2:

Could be a bad connection at the bulbs, or that one that you had problems with before came loose. I'd check them all again, and maybe replace you right side turn bulbs just to be sure (they're cheap). Could just be a bad bulb on its way out.

Sounds like the connection between the bulb and wire harness is a little shaky?? A quick blink usually means that the bulb is burned out, right? So, the same would occur if a bulb wasn't connected. The sporadic quick blink seems to indicate a faulty connection.

...This is just a thought...

BTW, do you have LED blinker bulbs?

Yes, the Shrockworks bumper came w/LED blinkers. I'll drop the splash guard and poke around with the connection again.

Thanks guys.

I would cehck the connections of the ballast resistor they used with the front blinlers. The electrical system actually sesnses the ballast and not the actual bulb, and it will blonk fast if it doesn't have the drain fromt he ballast resistor.

If it's still giving you problems, talk to one of the Shrockworks guys -- since I went down there to get mine, we got to make sure everything worked well before all of yours were sent out. Originally, mine had the fast blinking LEDs but they fixed it right up and were able to fix the issue on all the bumpers before sending them out .... in other words, they'd probably be able to tell you exactly what's going on if you're still having the sporadic blinking problem.

Oooops...I've been meaning to close out this issue. The cause was the right-side connector partially disconnecting from the LED. I snapped it back into place, and zip-tied the ballast down so the weight of it wasn't pulling on the electrical line. No further issues since.
