Gotta love all the choices for rear bumpers for the FJ. Demello's looks good, but I wonder why it sticks out so far?

Probably the same reason as the 4Runner, that rear crossmember sits pretty far back. SO you either have to live with the bulky bumper or cut the crossmember.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the 4runner and fj similar in that one of these aftermarket bumpers could be modified to fit the 4runners?

The frame is the same at the rear, but all body panels are different, so basically only mounting can be transferred, everything else would have to be rebuilding from the beginning.
