How much to snip off the fenders from rubbing?

I recently did the typical 3/2 lift and bigger tires.

Does anyone have any pictures on how high i should cut off the splash guard?

anyone try using a heat gun to re-mold the guard?

btw... during the install i was able to disconnect and reconnect the x-reas.

No pics, but I just cut those bottom buckets of the inner fender.
