If I have found a TRD exhaust for my 04 V8 but it says it is for non "self-leveling suspension: 4runners, I am guess this means without XREAS.
Ok, if so, if I plan on removing my XREAS for an OME lift, than can I still sue this exhaust?
Please help!!:poke: I want to buy it BAD!

Nw i really likethse exhust from trd, but for some reaason they were made for the v6 4runners and not the v8's it will not clear the spare and the main flange is about 2" to long. If you cut it and re weld the flange you should be ok. Tried this awhile back and couldnt get it to mount up.

Self leveling is usually an air-bag type of suspension, like the Limited option. I've never heard the XREAS called "self leveling". I alos don't see how the XREAS parts could interfere with the exhaust. Air bags might get in the way, or be too close to the exhaust.

Yep, self levelling is the models fitted with the rear air suspension (which gets XREAS automatically). This is an option on LTD models only.

if you read ur vehicles manual, it talks about the self-leveling suspension. its nothing new, they have used the same setup in the lx470s.

According to this link I posted, it doesn't specify if it's only for the V6?

So this does NOT work? You say tried this awhile back and couldn't get it to mount up?
I want to try and fab a trd v6 exhaust to work for the v8 and am wondering what I will need to do?
How is the spare tire for the v6 different from the v8? Thanks

Are you sure it will fit? I don't think the v6 and v8 share common exhausts.

I didn't have the time this weekend, but yeah it will fit with some fabing. I'll let you know when I'm finished and how much work it really is?

What a simple project, I basically only had to cut 2.5" 's off the new system and re weld. Every hanger lines up perfectly! The sound is incredible, not too loud or drowning, sounds best in lower rpms. I will try and put together a sound clip if anyone is interested?

Excellent info.
A pic of the area that had to be cut would be very helpful.
Does it fir up under the body better? Away from rock damage?

It fits just like stock (out of the way).
I will take a picture of the under carriage when I get a chance.
Basically I took the 2.5" piece out about 8 inches back from where it bolts to the existing exhaust (it's obvious when you size it up). I basically attached the exhaust hangers near the axle and marked where I needed to shorten (the straightest section)

As requested, I had my camera on the floor in the back hoping to capture the sound but got a lot of tire noise anyway.... around second 35 I floor it and you can hear it.
