i am looking at purchasing a 2006 4 runner but it has a 8" horozontal tear in the rear bumper just left of center. i wanted to see if anyone knew if this is something that can be repaired or will it take a new bumper. any ideas on cost? thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Pendign on the damage they can repair it sometimes. Pendig what you deem expensive the rear bumper tends to be repairable pretty cheap. On my GFs Lexus GX the bodyshop was bale to fix her rear bumper and repaint it perfectly for $800.
Only problem is she backed into somethign again, so it will need to be fixed again :pissed2:
Nice thing is that the frame sits right behind the bumper,s o it is very unlikely to have more extensive damage without a huge impact.

For the rear bumper cover ...don't repair it, just replace it. It's less than $200 for a new one and then you can just get it painted to match or Line-x'd ...or whatever.
Shouldn't be more than $150 to paint i would think.

:iagree Been there done this in July 07 wife got hit bumper cover is cheap just drop it off to get painted and put it on your self its really easy. There is only a couple of clips and bolts. If the price is good I would not let this be the deciding factor you may be able to get more off the price by making out its a big deal. Good Luck:bigok:
