I've searched ...I promise. If this info is somewhere, can someone just send me in the right direction please and I'll start doing pushups or something:moon:
I'm looking for a DEFINITE answer as to the front brake sizes on the 06 and newer. I've heard but cannot confirm that the newer Limiteds may also have the larger brakes like the SE.
I've searched online and I even called my local dealership but they were absolutely no help. The parts guy did say however that all models used the same part number for the brakes but he had listed 4 (yes 4) different part numbers for the front rotors. He could not explain any descriptions of each ...like I said, he was no real help.
anyone know for sure?:poke:

I'm not 100% sure, but i believe the fronts are 11.6" and the rear are 12.3"

All SR5s have 12.6" front rotors. All SEs have 13.3" front rotors. SOme early LTDs had 12.6" rotors and then it seemed they changed over to 13.3" front rotors in 05 (this si the one that is tricky).
The rotors and calipers are larger on the 13.3" front brakes, but they use the same brake pads oddly enough. See expats write up on brake pad swaps in maintenance I believe.
Only sure way to know is to pull the wheel and measure the rotor.

Tim (Roams001) came by and we tried his 16" procomps from Wheelers on my truck and it seems like they fit. he had to grind the calipers a little but that's it. Looks like my 06 Limited still can take the 16's ...woot!!:drink:

Yes if you grind the calipers a bit the 16" wheels with good backspacing will still work. SO you have the larger brakes then, as mine takes 16' with no issues.

I'm not sure still then, I guess? Tim has an 05' SR5 so maybe it was just the model of wheels he had. I bought a set of Chambers so I'll see when I get to it.
I'll also try to measure the actual diameter of the rotor.

well my 06 limited must have the bigger brakes in front. I tried to mount my new 16's up today and they wouldn't clear the calipers. They had "0" offset (4.5 in. backspacing)

I took them over on post and put it up on a lift to look for myself. They just barely rub. I think I may be able grind the calipers a little and make them fit. I'll probably still have to use the spidertrax spacers though which might push them out too far.
I'll update tomorrow.
