View Full Version : Help me kill the BEEEP
Ok, I'm tired of the damn keyless entry beep. I found a thread on yotatech about removing it but the pics were dead. I tried listening around the engine bay while BEEPing it bit no luck. Any help?

As far as I know this can only be done through the use of a handheld tester (READ dealer). It has to be used for various Body ECU functions, see list in attachment.
Tehy can turn off the BEEP or set the volume. You might also look at getting the door locks programmed for the settigs you like. I had mine changed at the dealer for one click all doors oopen and only lock doors when going over 12MPH. Some functions you can program yourself, but others like the BEEP seems to require a handheld tester.

I was kinda planning on just removing the piezo thing itself. Save me some time at the stealership.

Oh OK. James has done it so he can point you to where the little buzzer is.

Oh yeah I hate it too! I pulled it asap
It is in the drivers side near the firewall on the side (just behind the front fender-inner fender). It is next to the wiring harness coming out of the firewall.
basically, directly under the drivers side hood lift strut
It looks like a wire going into a big black ring. This ring is clipped into the inner fender metal. The piezo is between the inner fender and outer fender- echoing in the front fender area for maximum annoyance :P
Unclip, pull out and you will see the piezo. It is shaped like a thumb w/ a hole in it. Just unplug it and you are good. Takes 30 sec. and made me very happy :)
Sorry I'm out of town so post a pic of the inner fender and I'll point it out if you're not sure

Thanks a lot. No more BEEEEEEEP!! :cool1:

James also showed me where the piezo is located and which was quickly removed.
Here is where the harness for the piezo goes through the fender.
