So while we wait and wait and wait...
Looking at Lances truck it was obvious to see that the mounting location (two end caps either side of the radiator) is not an overly strong design for mounting the bullbar that has to perform winching.
Any speculation on how ARB will overcome this?
I can see that by doing some welding work it could be strenghtened as in This solution (http://www.wattora.com/mods/endcap/) but ARB are not going to expect people to run off and find someone to cut and weld.
My 87 Runner had an ARB that had 4 mounting positions which would have seen the cable break before the mounting broken free, but on the 4th Gens. I don't see how they are going to do it.
Any ideas?

The ARB bulbar has additional mounting pounts on the frame rails on both the Prado and Taco bullbars. They use the front mounting points of the stock bumper, but also has beefy brackets going down futher on the frame rails where they then mount onto the frame rails itself, so I would believe that the 4Runner bumper will have a similar bumper mount once it is done.

Hey guys, my service department will be putting an ARB bar on a 05 Taco this monday so I'll post som pics of how it mounts up. It comes with a big bracket that runs accross the frame rails. Looks like a big reinforcement.
I'll also post some pics of the ARB bar we put on a 05 Runner. We ordered a bar for a Prado, it bolted right on. the only difference was where the wings line up with the fender wells, we had to shorten them a couple inches.

So bulldog, you're saying that we shouldn't worry about fixing ARB bumper to stock locations. It should handle well.
What about weight? ARB looks much heavier then OEM plastic. Do you know how much it weights? Is it going to lower my front?

I believe the brackets that ARB will supply will be fine for winching. I don't know about the weight at this point, and have not seen a final production confirmation or product number for the bullbar from ARB yet.
And yes steel bullbars tend to lower the front a bit, normally people add aftermarket suspensions when they do bumpers. This helps with the handling and also prevents sagging form the extra weight. OME or coil-overs seem to be the natural choice.
