These buffoons are clueless and can't even seem to get the basics done right for me, not to mention the total shut-down when I asked them about aligning my front end and moving the lower A-arms "forward" due to the DR CO's and larger tires.
These are the same guys that told me the 4Runner headlights are not adjustable, even though I had the page from the FSM showing how its done.
Last Sat I had the Runner in for basic service and to replace the serpentine belt. They had to order the belt, so they just did oil and tire rotate.
Took it back yesterday to have the belt completed, and to have the tires balanced (I didn't even ask why it wasn't done when they rotated, guess its not part of the 5000 service interval-I'll have to check the manual on that). Today, I noticed that they rotated the tires AGAIN, so now I get to go down and f-around rotating them yet AGAIN because the Runner is going on a road trip tomorrow and I don't want any uneven tire wear to happen.
Finally, the service guy was telling me that I voided the warranty by putting on the DR CO's. I told him pretty much every other Toyota dealer/service in So Cal and Nevada sells them aftermarket, so how could it void warranty? He said the installing dealers would then have to warranty them, but Toyota of NA won't...pretty much inferring that the Platinum warranty I bought last summer won't cover my suspension.
Oh yeah, and last weekend my wife asked the salesman about the new LC's because we're thinking of buying one...he pointed at the new Sequia and said "there it is, the white one"...she got in the car and drove off. I mean, c'mon!! At least have some knowledge of the product you're trying to sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
F-it. Now what? I have to take off three days and drive all the way to Las Vegas Findley's for my trucks spa treatment because that's the only place that has competent mechanics? It would make more sense for me to just sell the f-ing thing.
now, down to the garage...:deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse

Are there no other dealers in your area?
I do have to agree with you that so many of the sales/service/techs at many dealers are completely clueless to the product they sell, and that really pisses me off. I have no idea why folks don't educate themselves and have pride in their work. Toyota publishes literature on each new model before introduction and all they have to do is read it, print it and save it for future reference.

there are a few..it's a function of convenience though. I usually like to drop the truck off and take the shuttle home or to work. The other dealers are too far, and I don't have the time in my life to wait at the dealership while they complete the work, or have the wife schlep to and from chauffering me. If I knew the other dealer were on top of their game, I'd make it work tho, but I'm not ready to roll the dice.
At this point

Its amaizing how dealerships can be so different. In York PA there is a dealer ship called Deihl Toyota they suck completely incompetent in both sales and service. But 20 miles away Hanover toyota awsome when you guys talk about Findly it remindes me of them.

Speaking to this one point, it is not possible to move the a-arms forward, so that's probably why they looked at you like a deer in the headlights. What you want to ask for with the alignment is to max. (or is it min.?) the caster to move the wheels as forward as possible.

Yep Max caster will move the lower arms as forward as possible. Problem is to keep the camber in line at the same time.

I do everything I can myself - I have have so many problems over the years I would not know where to start. I have enough stuff to pull everything except for an engine. The cost of some of the tools were paid off the first time used - i.e., transmission jack.
I have over the years found some good guys to do stuff like alignments, AC service, tire mnt/balancing, CV joints/boots (nasty job).
It's quite rewarding to figure out what's wrong and fix it yourself. This is another good reason to have 2 vehicles.
