When I was driving up a hill today going about 60-65mph at around 3k rpm my check engine light came on. I have had this light come on before and I brought it to Toyota and they still haven't given me an answer  . They told me something misfired and they can't do anything to fix it. Has anyone had this problem before?

Nope never had that problem, at those speeds and RPMs I doubt it was the ATRAC system. Do you think it is your VSC or ATRAC system?

If anything malfunctions in the ATrac or VSC, the gauges will come on. Check engine light has nothing to do with them. You need to take your 4Runner to a dealer that actually knows what they are doing. Theres an answer for any problem in a car. Your dealer is just a rip off who knows squat about anything. If you live in NorCal, I suggest you go to Modesto Toyota. They know there stuff, and know it good.

You can also take your 4runner to any mechanic who has a computer that can diagnose these problems. Shouldn't cost you more than 50 bux to diagnose.

I don't think it has anything to do with ATRAC or VSC either. The lights don't come on. When I was going up a hill at 3k - 3.5k RPM my 4runner felt like it was trying to shift gears but couldn't and it started shaking. I even had overdrive off. Yeah I will probably have to take it somewhere but I don't want to spend $50 bucks or more and then telling me they don't know whats wrong with it.
