Just for the record, you west coast guys suck. :) I would love to have a place like that out here in the Northeast . . . . .

Great pics!

Yes, it's also too far for me...
By the way nice pictures.
I've also mentioned that Lance got new rear bumper with tire carrier. I would see it closer...

Its an impressive carrier, I love the way it swings down so easily. I think they are still intending to raise the height a little more like Bruce's. Although I think they were going to lower Bruces a little

The cammo box on the bag of Lances rig with the green rig looks really aggressive. Would not work so well on my white runner tho.

Can't wait to get a similar system for the tire carrier, and highlift.

Maybe in the future you guys living so far should consider flying out and going shotgun with some of us on the next trip. Just an idea.

I would like to see Lance's new carrier, I really like his new bumper much more than the old one. I just didn't like the idea of cutting the frame short to do it though. Maybe one day. I would probably go for a more traditional rear bumper and carrier, like James has on his 80 now.

I was looking for an idea of mounting tire carrier on the rear since I got my 4Runner. If some would make them, maybe give some details, drawings,... or at least post close-up pictures, so we do them ourselves... it will be great.

Alex, unless you plan to mount an aftermarket bumper with swingout ot swing down tire carrier, this option below is probably your best bet.

Hmmm...off topic....sorry John

The carrier that BruceTS (on YT) has on his 4Runner is essentially an in-hitch design. He does have a custom bumper which he made, but the carrier still slides into a hitch. I think he was saying his design it wouldn't fit the original hitches but I am sure it wouldn't take much to redesign it. I think that was his plan? It does swing down for access to the rear and carries the highlift.

There are probably pics at YT.

He has a heap of neat designs he has been working on including the new perches (hangers) for the near suspension that is built much tougher and is a closed box style to not only improve strength, but also works as a slide over rocks. At some stage I will replace mine with his design. I think he said it would be a few months before he had it done.

Here is a poor shot of the difference in height between Lances and Bruces carriers

Andries - notice I pulled it back to a photo of DV

Maybe you might want to cut this thread up and start a new one on carriers?

Cheers

The night I rode with took Bruce and took them on a short run he (Bruce) bent his bumper from the hitch/tire/weight. He hit a rut very hard at speed and that caused the bumper to bend from the weight it was supporting, so he's gonna do some improvements to it.
