I am still looking for some sort of great deal on stock gears. Used are OK.
I have already:
Pestered every aftermarket shop that performs ARB installs
Posted on 1/2 a dozen different forums
Rooted around various wrecking yards
Annoyed local differential shops

Wish you needed the 4.11s (that's stock on the V8s right?). Mine are sitting on the floor at IPOR right now.

Wherever IPOR is, get them for me please!

I'll pick them up Friday...here's the rear. I'm reusing some of the outer pieces of the axle, but the pumpkin and gears will be intact. You need the front too?
Iron Pig Offroad (IPOR) is the shop peforming my SAS.

I'm guessing that you are in North Virginia since IPOR is in Fredricksburg. I need only the gears as I have a pumpkin but I don't know how much trouble it would be for you to take yours apart and ship just the gears. I am in California so it would be easier for you to ship just the R&P gears. I'm not sure if I'll install a front locker so I'm unsure of the need for the front gears.
I have a FedEx account that you could bill the shipping to.

I really don't want to break apart the 3rd member assembly. I'll have a lot of pieces that I don't have a use for. Are you still interested?

Okay, back to my original post:
I am still looking for some sort of great deal on stock gears. Used are OK unless they are made of titanium, or gold or some other metal that makes a person ask too much for them.

A new set of gears is $650 from a dealer and maybe $250 from aftermarket IIRC.
So the message is: I want to pay lot LESS.
I have found out that shops that have re-geared are throwing away leftover 3.73s so that is a message about their value. They are worth very little to nothing.

Yeah, I would think you'd pick some up anywhere between $150-$300. I guess you'll just have to leave your name and number everywhere and hang in there. If I could afford to regear I'd give ya mine.
try:

Nice!!! Going to send that 3rd and the one with the locker to Zuk, and get a 3d with 3.73 and a locker???
If you do it might be worthwhile to spend a few$$ and get a solid pinion spacer and some shims for the installer. You will thank yourself later. The more people I speak to, the more thinks a solid pinion spacer is a very good idea, especially in the back.

The shop that originally built the 3rd wih the ARB is where I will go. They are local and have been very patient and cooperative. Al ong time ago they did some great work on my Bronco.
The solid spacer is a must do.
I need to get under the truck and pre-run the air line from the compressor too.
Is there anything special about installing the 3rd? I was considering having the shop build the new one and then swap them for me. I need to get pricing and decide on the details.

We pulled Robert's third on the trail, so it is not that hard. Jason showed us a cheat way to do it pretty quickly.
Drop the rear driveshaft. Just loosen the hub bolts on the axle. Then loosen the brake line mounts on the axle. Then you simply pull the hubs out on each side till the sideshafts pull out of the diff. Undo the small bolts holding the 3rd in place, remove, put in new 3rd. Repeat steps in reverse order.
Goes without saying that you want to drain the diff oil before doing anything :D
