Got my Magnaflow cat-back yesterday and threw it on this morning. It's a very simple install. Just two bolts in the front, two bolts over the rear axle, remove the stock sytem, then hang the Magnaflow pieces and bolt them back together and you're done.

It's great to be able to hear the V8 now. I drive a mustang with a full headers-back exhaust, so I'm not used to a quiet cabin. There's no drone with this Magnaflow set-up (people who complain must never of driven cars with modified exhausts before), but you can definately hear the truck now when you're on the gas. It's very well-mannered at cruising speeds - the wife and I were able to carry on conversation on the freeway this evening just fine.

Which would you rather have?

They certainly look nice Mike. Would love to heard the sound. Having driven a track prep'd Porsche for a few years as a daily driver, I agree I don't know what people are worried about with the drone thing. :P

I wonder if you can work out some type of quick disconnect for offroading times as the tips will get trashed once you start climbing over a rock or two.

Otherwise, you can just put up with replacing the tips every once-in-a-while. I have replaced mine three times and that's it. Next time I'm just cutting the pipe as it comes over the axle.

Enjoy the new pipes.

Looks sweet :bigok:

I'm fine with the stock muffler, it is making enough noise for me at the moment. Especially after cutting off the rear resonator :rotflmao:

Has anyone cut off the exhaust just after the rear axle? (At the red line of the picture below)

What are the effects? Positive/Negative?
More noise?
Less/More exhaust getting in through open windows?

Would anyone recomend NOT doing this? Why?

I cut my exhaust off, as you show in the picture, at the red line. Then added a new piece of pipe, and a simple stainless tip. I had the shop keep everything up, high and tight, with the tip coming down at an angle, just behind the mud flap.

It has a different sound; but it does not seem to be more loud. Just different. And no fart-can resonator to get crushed.

I did. Had to so I could use the cargo carrier. Added the chrome valor tip to finish it off. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it increased noise 1 point...its so minimal, its not even worth mentioning.
