Kewl!!! Would love to see the end results. Looks like this guy is going gangbusters on a 06 :bigok: Hope he is an experienced wheeler so he knows what he isgong to do with all the stuff, rather than just getting it for accesories.
4 weeks for the bumper sounds a bit optimistic, but lets see.
I would rather wait for the gears before adding in the lockers, so I dont have to get the install done twice.

Yeah I notice that he has already had Cornfed spacers and is now switching to OME. No time being wasted.
I can't see me affording the lockers in the next year or so, so I think I will open up the diffs for the gears and leave it at that. I also suspect that it would be my luck to break something once the lockers were installed. Like you say, you gotta know how to use them.
I am going to find it real humorous if ARB beats Shrockworks on this.

Well at least there will be 2 good choices for front bumpers in the near future.
My opinion is that the smaller company in question could have really used the jump on the market.

I am going to find it real humorous if ARB beats Shrockworks on this.
Why? ARB has had three model years to get this bumper out. ShrockWorks has only been working on it since February. I think the more humorous scenario is, ShrockWorks beating ARB, don't you?

I would love to see pics adn reports of this one after the guy has everything fitted, Wheeling pics would be great. I assume he will be going for a slightly more agressive tire for such a setup.

Guys, lets try to stay on topic with this one. Somewhere there is a ARB vs SW thread I believe :P

I look forward to seeing his results, but my money will be going to the sw bumper (sorry, had to get that in there :guns: )

Its costing him $7000 to do the lockers, bullbar, winch and suspension  and its being done at 4WheelParts
I hope it goes well. Would have been nice to get him put the gears in at the same time.

Holy sheit, I wouldn't have 4WheelParts replace a lightbulb in my rig. Wow, good luck with that.

lets see....
lockers $1600
bullbar $800-1000?
winch $500-1400 (lots of winches out there)
suspension $? OME, Hoe's, Saws
Someone at 4WP is going on a nice vacation!

Ok lets give them the benefit and be nice
Parts : Total $4550
lockers + compressor $1800
bullbar $1200 (yes they are going to be $$$)
winch $750 (actually he said xd9000 wench and those can cost a lot :P )
suspension OME $ 800
Labour $2550
Getting screwed by 4WP priceless!!!! :rotflmao:
And the parts prices can be beat by shopping around. I just hope they don't screw up the locker or suspension installs. That would suck double. Paying all that money and then they don't support you when you blow a diff due to bad install will suck in a big way.

Yea, he said they're pricing it because they've never worked on a 4th gen before. Not even considering that he's getting reamed on the $, the 0 experience factor right there would make me take it somewhere else. Some people amaze me with how they choose to spend their money.

I'm surprised he didn't get Donahoe's up front with that kind of budget.
When I called FWP I didn't feel very comfortable with them, they didnt seem familiar with what OME was and I doubt the one near me has done hardly any 4th gens. I had to tell them I was talking about a 3" suspension lift to get a quote because the guy on the phone didn't know what I was talking about. The labor cost they quoted me for the install was enough for me not to want to get lifted anymore.

Should someone maybe go on t4r and warn him? Or is it too late? It would be a shame to see someone get that ripped off, and by inexperienced (on 4R's) mechanics. :iamwithst
But, it is his $$$, and if he wants to pay double the price or more, then :flipoff: But, dang, that's a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!
:deadhorse :bs: :spank: :xnuts:
For that much money, I could have my874runner completely set up, sas'd and everything!! :jester:

Lance and Mike already have. Lance gave him some prices which are about the same as Bulldogs.
I too weighed in. Some things are kinda wacky. He's got an 06 and has already changed to Cornfed and now to OME, he's replaced the stock tires with Goodyear Fortera 265's which are an onroad tire good for wet and ice yet he lives in Florida I believe. So he's putting lockers on with these tires? He has alluded to the fact he may change tires sometime after he gets his truck back from 4WP but that seems kinda backwards to me.
I'd also agree with Robert, why wouldn't he go for Dona's if he's throwing down that much cash?
I'm not trying to beat on the guy at all, but I sort fear he's maybe getting taken for a bit of a ride and doesn't really know what's possible and available. The shame is his trucks already in being done so there's no turning back.
Will be real interesting to see how the lockers work tho. I too hope he posts some pictures and reports.
Still everybody's different in how they approach their rides. Some like em low to the ground, some like up the clouds. Some love the bling, others could care less.
Hmmmm.....
Freakin hell...I just noticed he bought the truck around June! Man is this guy serious about getting his truck rigged out! Jealous :(

And back to the topic...ARB bullbar...I see that ARB are only shipping 20 in the first batch scheduled for approx five weeks time.
Robert - one is going to Vegas to a guy on YT. His name is William. You will have to get some spy photos :hidebc: LOL

Maybe they just got a raise or promotion? I wish I was in the financial situation to toss my Cornfed. :mecry:
I'll have to see the end products (SW vs. ARB). But I $$$ from the small company when I can.

Yeah, the labor $$ does not make sense. I wouldn't pay more to be a shop's guneia pig. I'd want some customer references who have had Toyota gears done at the shop. It is not like the 4Runner is much different from other Toyota truck or IFS truck on the market.

I guess I'll have to log back in to YT tonight, if I remember. I haven't been on there since March, when we were getting ready for TDS (all they did was whine and cry). I only spend my time on here (Toy120) and TTORA, every once in a while I'll chime in on the FJ forums, you know, for a laugh (too many newbies). I haven't even been on t4r.org for quite some time. What is the guy's user name on YT?

Yeah I gotta tell ya, if money was not an object I'd be out getting stuff put on my truck left, right and center and paying someone to do it. I like the satisfaction of working on my own stuff but when it comes to gears, lockers, real heavy equipment or electrical, I'm grateful for the professionals.
Just like having my suspension done two times by James and Andries. Even that I'd pay for, just to watch the goof balls razzing each other is priceless. :P

I'd never use those guys. Whenever I go there (on Marine in Lawndale) it seems like there's mostly American metal in there, and I'd bet their labor turnover is high.

Florida? That place is flat as a pancake. Good mud tires and the ATRAC would've been sufficient, IMO.
