I came across this link over at expedition portal:

Pretty cool stuff. And then I saw this:

Knowing without cutting the rear xmember we aren't going to gain very much departure angle, this seems like it might be a good direction.

Just a thought.

Very interesting. They seem to have drilled some holes for brackets through the tuppwerware. Wonder how much it would cost for the 4R?

I will still go for a full rear bumper. There is some departure angle to be gained by doing it, at least clean up everything underneath the rear crossmember. You guys will full size tow hitches should gain some though. But it will still drag, but at least you can just quickly touch it up vs beating up the tupperware.

Nice find Joel. Now we just need to know who makes it. Cool.

Those are some of the coolest vehicles I have ever seen! Why don't they sell those land cruiser trucks in the US???

The Fortuner is a little smaller than the 4R. They are sold in markets to fit between the Prado and the RAV, but they have proper 4wd underpinnings (not with all the Prado/4R features though). The Prado is the same size as the GX, so it's interior is bigger than the 4R. In the US they will be too close to the 4R and Highlander to be marketable, besides Toyota also have the FJC here.

Anyhow back to topic.
