I mentioned this morning that my driver seat is starting to wipe out. That's strange for me. Truck is only 1yr. 3mth old with 10k.
Anyway, I was thinking adding seat covers will help with this. They should also protect the leather from off-road use too.
I checked the forum and found Wet Okole Seat Covers (http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16&highlight=seat+covers). They do expensive.
Does anyone know what else is available for 4Runner?
I checked my local automotive store, but they offered me some cheap crap for $200. I didn't even like the sample they have in store.

I bought a complete set, front and back, of CoverCraft seat savers. They are really nice and fit tight. They even come with a little cover for the headrest. And the back seat set takes care of the arm rest so that the cup holders are still functional.

I bought them from CarCover-Depot (http://www.carcover-depot.com/seatsaver.htm) , the fronts were under $100. I cannot remember if there was additional shipping on the invoice or not. I also bought a UVS100 custom fitted sun shade from them that works terrific. It is a little more unwieldy compared to the pop up circular type. But here in AZ the extra protection is worth the slight additional hassle.

hey, quick question for those who have these fitted covers... How complicated is the install? I have nice CST leather and just wanted to cover the seats when I offroad and take them off all other times. Is the install that easy or a little more complicated for my quick excursions?

With the CoverCraft seat savers the install time should go down with repeated installs. They are pretty easy to get installed, but they do fit tight so you have to install them once or twice to figure out the best approach, i.e. put this corner on first then pull here. The trickiest part is figuring out a good approach to passing the straps from the front of the seat back to the back of the seat back to fasten the seat back portion of the cover on. I have the double decker in the back, which raises the load floor a little and makes it a little tougher to push the straps under the seat and reach them from the top. I eventually found the exact right seat back angle that allowed me to fit my hand in and grab the end of the strap, now it is a piece of cake. I have not actually timed myself doing it, but it cannot be more than a few minutes per seat.
The rears are separated into 8 pieces total. Two bottoms, two backs, three head restraints and the armrest. The fronts are four pieces each seat is one piece plus two head restraint covers.

Is anyone familiar with Coverking Seat covers (http://www.coverkingcovers.com/info_custom-seat-cover.php?info=options#neoprene)?

fwiw, i used to have wet okoles (fronts) in my old 93 4runner and i loved them. they are indeed spendy, but worth it imo; everyone will think they're stock and ask, "did your truck come with these?"
plus, you never need to put a towel down when you climb in the rig soaking wet.

You mean that they absorb the moisture. Are they dry fast?

they are made from wetsuit-quality neoprene with some kind of hydophobic treatment applied to the outer surface. even if you're sitting on them in a sopping wetsuit they don't get "soaked through" per se, and dry out pretty quickly.
if you do get the okoles, i highly recommend spending the extra $20 or so for the uv protectant and neoprene shampoo and conditioner; using these products will keep them feeling, looking, and smelling like (near-) new.

My brother got the Neoprene from Costco.com. Nice covers. I forgot the price.

Dies someone works with WetOkole? I called them, but they send me to the website. If I'll make the order there, WetOkole will send them to me as a purchased merchandise. In this case it will cost me $150 more to ship and clear it in Canada. I can't find any dealer who works with WetOkole localy in Canada. Are there any in US who can order the stuff and then ship to me as personal shipment?

I have some WetOkole seat covers and they are very nice. I use them only when going off-road or to the beach skiing, boating etc. Taking them on and off was not that hard, however, they are wearing out rather quickly. I starting to get a split in one and some stretching because I keep putting them on and taking them off. I would not recommend them if this is what your going to be doing also.

I got mine from coverking.com and they did ship USPS because I remember missing the delivery and having to pick them up at the post office.

WetOkole is wearing too fast  Why?
No, I was planning to put them on and use for at least 3 years. Are they going to hold at least 3 years?

The main reason is because I put them on and take them off and have done this at least 20 times sometimes pulling a little to hard in hast. I don't think they would have wore if I had kept them on all the time. Earlier T4ruSAF asked about the easy of taking them on and off and I wanted to give some feedback because of my experience.

Ok, I got it. So they should be ok for 3 years.

Mine are a little over a year old and I don't see any wear from sitting on them, well just a couple of spills that I can probably get out with a little evert  3years? only time will tell but I don't see any reason they won't if I just keep them on.
