Rear bumper center piece removal

Does anyone have Repair Manual for 4th Gen.?
I want to find out how to remove the central piece in rear bumper.
I remember reading some post a while ago on t4r.org that you can remove the central piece on one bumper and cannot on another. I just don't remember which one has removable central piece, front or rear. I looked under my front bumper and it looks like it is solid, so it might be the rear bumper which is partial.

On my 03 runner the rear bumper center piece can be removed .
Ive removed it on mine to get repainted . It comes off one piece with the bumper complete. Once the bumper is on the ground, there are bolts holding the center piece to the the outter bumper ends. Very easy to remove, BUT, if you were planning on leaving it off permanently? The end pieces may not be sturdy enough when mounted alone without the center piece.

One other problem, On my diagram of the rear bumper for 03 Runner. It shows the bumper as 3 pieces. You have an 05 Runner. The diagram for the 05 Runner shows it only as being 1 piece? You need to look underneath and see if there are bolts that hold bumper ends to center piece.
Ive attached both pdf's for both 03 and 05 Runner's

On the first file you at the bumper don’t have build in fog lights. On the second file you can see those lights. This entire means (at least for me) that first file is for 2006+ model and second file is for 2003-2005 model. I do have those lights on my bumper which means that my central piece should be removable.

Im using online manuals and I may have accidently punched in 2006.
I rechecked the pdf's and i sent 2003 to 2005 and 2006and up.
So you should be ok!!
