Jim emailed me and said my bullbar is in for powdercoating tomorrow :shout: :drink: :bigok:  :cow:
Unfortunately it looks like I won't get it before Mojave. He said it will be shipped in two weeks with approx. a 3 week delivery date. :(
I'd need the bar the weekend before to fit it. Need the truck during the week for work and I doubt I'd be able to get the front off and the bullbar on over one night.
Guess I won't need it for Mojave anyways. Still not 100% sure on Mojave anyhow. 1st day at work today there is a school function planned for the Saturday. I've probably got enough brownie points to get it off, but I'll have to see over the next day or two.
Did the other bumpers go to PC as well? I'm selfish. :P

No idea. Email didn't say. I was wondering if other people had heard anything. The reason he emailed me was I wanted to confirm the final payment.
Just realized you said emailed, so you probably wouldn't know.
He say why it's going to take 2 weeks if it's already in PC?

I don't care I ordered first, so I better get mine first!!! :P :rotflmao:
Let's see when they ship though. I need mine before 9 Sept to fit it for the Mojave trip. I will probably only fit the winch later, will see how I feel when it arrives though.

No he didn't. I was half considering asking a few questions but I thought the better of it. Its just more time away from them getting the work done. Your question was definitely one I thought of as when I had my sliders powdercoated it was done it two days. Still, his supplier might do some batch work and that's just how it works out, as there are several steps in the powdercoating process.

Normally with a big batch it takes time to get through a PC, especially with bulky items like the bumper and brackets. Then is is going to be fun to package and ship the stuff out. 18 or so bumpers dont jump on the UPS truck to come out to us.
That is why I want mine to be packaged and shipped first :P No need to wait for the traffic jam behind then :D

I bet you even emailed Jim and told him you wanted your first, right? LOL
Yeah, I wasn't thinking of the packaging issue. My sliders were totally wrapped even though I was just putting them into the back of the truck for the ride home before installing.
They used this sticky backed brown paper that took a while to remove. It was easy to remove, just lots of pieces. The bullbars, I imagine, will take some serious wrapping!

Actually I think he was doing mine first because he was going to use it in some promotional shots which he was going to pay me for

LOL
I think he will get lots of good shots of the bumpers in the future from the site anyhow. As long as he asks for permission to use them first :P
BTW: you were going to do a write up for a rag on the bumpers and story in the future, that still on?

Worst case is we all come back from Mojave and have new, shiny bumpers waiting for us.
