i got the demello hybrid sliders the day before we left for the big bear trip. these weld-on sliders are a combination of square and round tubes. they definitely made a difference, not just in protecting the rocker panels, but giving me the peace of mind that i've got some armor underneath. they're solidly made and jason did a great job welding them on. i'm glad i went with the powder coating instead of the rattle can approach. the only thing i'd change if i were to do this all over again, would be to have gotten the sliders tucked closer into the frame so that the square bars are further in. this is something i'm sure jason can accomadate. other than that, definitely look into the demello sliders if you're considering weld ons.

Yeah those sliders sure looked nice when I looked at them. I like the way he made the bracket that welds onto the frame, instead of just using a scab plate on the side of the frame. This way the slider uses the torsion of the boxed frame instead of just the sidewall strength of the frame.
Tucking them in slightly more would have been better, but yours are fine just the way they are now man.
Speaking of PC and sliders, it is time I get mine touched up a bit. It had a few contacts at Hollister and strangely enough I didn't touch the sliders, skids, bumpers or anything at Big Bear.

I just had my DO sliders welded on today. It's nice that DO moved out here, they're only a 20 minute drive from me now. I got the hybrid ones, too. After they were on I also noticed that they could be tucked in and up a little, maybe .75" or so, but no worries, I'm glad to finally have some protection there. Very impressive build quality, great welds, triangulated mounting plates @ the frame, top notch piece of armor. I'll post some picts tomorrow.

Very Nice! I like the square tube design. How thick is the tube wall?
The PC won't last once you start draggin them over the rocks, but It starts out lookin nice.

I read in a magazine just now that the 2x2 square tube is 0.120 wall, but I can't confirm that since it doesn't say on Demello's site.
I may get a little lucky with the PC lasting, as the PC shop made them black at first by mistake, and had to re-PC them grey, so I got a double coating.

Pretty easy to touch up the PC with rattle can in the future. Just get some paint that matches closely to the PC. I have touched up my Hanna sliders a few times with rattle can. Just tape up the body and areas nnot affected and spray over it. Not really a big deal since most of the areas getting beaten up is out of sight and you don't notice they have been touched up.
