JBL Synthesis system with RDS elect diagram
Hiya fellas,

I'm sure i missed it while looking around this site but where is the schematic for the JBL Synthesis system with RDS located?

I think one of my amps is going tits up because turning on the IGN, an ear drum blowing static noise comes out, thereby giving everyone in the car a solid heart attack. This happens twice yesterday and before that it happened about a month ago.

It's random from what I can tell. It doesn't matter if I turn the stereo off or not. Only cycling the IGN causes the system to reset.

At first I blamed the Scion stereo but now I have a Sony HU and it does the same thing. I figure I'll start with the amp(s) then work my way from there.

If any of you stereo gurus have some clues, please share them with me!

have you tired adjusting the fade front to rear? The JBL synthesis speakers have a tiny capacitor built in to the 6X9 up front and when they go bad it can make popping sounds or hissing. Just a thought.

good tare down info for the system, BTW that little capacitor I mentioned is behind the speaker mounted to the bracket. If you fade it to the rear only, turn everything off then back on and see what happens or if the hissing continues, could also be sign of a bad car battery too.

It's not a sound that occurs continuously. It randomly happens when i start the vehicle and then proceeds to blow the occupants' eardrums. Cycling the IGN cures it. The sound comes out of the speakers with or w/o the stereo powered up!

Thank for the link but it doesn't answer my question unfortunately. I'll see if I someone upgraded their stereo and has this amp laying around in the garage.

Might be a bad amp or ground connection.

There’s only one amp on the rear pass quarter panel in the cargo area. Cheaper to buy a real amp but a headache to connect the wiring matching. I have the color coding somewhere if you need it. Hopefully someone has one laying around for you
