Here are GPS coords for two trails in the Tahoe/Reno area. The first route is mostly on the Henness Pass Trail with a detour to a near by fire tower. It is an easy trail with a nice view from the fire tower.
The second file is Hunter Lake Trail that runs from Reno to Boomtown on I80. The trail was quite a bit rougher than I expected and I'm not sure I would recomend it for stock 4Runner, though with bigger tires and more clearance it would not be a problem. That said my stock 4Runner made it through fine with 2 bent side steps and some trail rash from all of the brush on the Reno side of the trail. I guess it's time to start the build on my 4Runner. By Hunter Lake I ran into 2 jeeps on 35" tires that gave my stock 4Runner a funny look as I drive by. bent.jpg Henness-Fire Tower July 2.gdb Hunter Lake Route July 2.gdb |
