Josh, you can always apply for a vanity call sign, like Unionjack (Jon) did.

Can I join your list of members with Amateur call signs.
You never know we may make a HF or VHF/UHF IRLP nodes QSO over the pacific while traveling mobile around our own country's I'm a planning the big lap around the coast of Australia (anti-clockwise) to get the benefit of the trade winds behind the van to save fuel . I am in the process of fitting a Yaesu FT-857D into the vehicle as repeaters are few and far between away from the east coast and the major city's. Using 2m / 70cm when within range and HF when not. My call sign cleared today! KJ6VRD
How long does it usually take for a vanity to show up? I applied for K6LIQ

And there are a few that have not posted in this thread, so the list should be even longer.

Vanity cleared KJ6VRD will now forever be known by K6LIQ.
Jon I got a "mystery discount" coupon for ham radio outlet. they said come back in may for up to 20% off, so im going to stop by in the next few days and pickup a 350AR. my ultimate goal is to have 2 brains and keep one inside to play with and one in the truck. that way I can just bring the faceplate around with me.

With 20% off, hell, get a 350AR for the truck and a 857D for home and explore HF.

I think I am the newest HAM to 120. Passed my test today the 25th. Pretty simple with all the practice tests I have been taking and a bit of HAMcram. Now just need to wait for the call sign.
