wow the "music" in that video is about as annoying as it gets
couldn't tell if that was Bevis on the guitar or Butt-head

as for the 4runner...
pretty dang cool
some of that three wheel action really shows off the traction aids
looks like a solid rig

4Runners looked clean through the 'Con. I think you were looking at the disguised vehicle. They pulled the headlights and black taped up the area, taped up rear w/ 4th gen tailllights.
nice vid

I spied the sliders, but the suspension looks stock! If so, very nice capability from a relatively low clearance (~9.6") vehicle. I've yet to try anything like those Rubi segments in my '09 TE with stock height Bilstein suspension, though I did add rock rails and upsize the rubber to net a ~9.6" clearance (versus the stock TE's 9.1" number). I gotta figure after seeing the videos that I am taking it too easy with my truck. The toughest trail I've tackled thus far was rated a 5 out of 10 by Peter Massey. I'm encouraged to step it up a couple of difficulty levels now.

Cheers,

Jim

Nice video. It's really easy for them as they have Toyota support and they don't care about body panels as the goal is to get through whatever it takes.
Anyway, it was coooool

I love that they beat it like that. Allows them to catch issues before it gets to the customer.

Wonder if they will have 4Runner Trail teams events now?? That would be great to get back to the 4Runner roots, and we will also be cool in Toyota's eyes again

Toyota had guys they employed who would take FJCs to events and people could look at them and wheel them. The team also helped other trucks with advice and spotting on the trail, they typically hired experienced wheelers and also provided additional training. On top of that they had cool goodies that they gave away and shot some cool videos and pictures.

I heard, the 2010 will come with free panel replacement for the 36K or 3 years... whichever comes first.

So much fun to beat them when they are not yours.

Thanks for posting. Saw alot of stacked rocks in some places, but agree that a rear locker helps a ton.
