Default Baofeng GT-3 vs. UV-5R Variants

So I am deciding on getting an affordable handheld HAM unit for now based on UnionJack's suggested and playing with a Baofeng UV-5RA today.

I was looking at Amazon and they seem to be selling a Baofeng GT-3 model that is a little more expensive, but apparently is their newest offering at the moment. The information I have seen on GT-3 shows that the GT-3 sports upgraded hardware compared to the UV-5R series and a lot of reviews are saying its a good improvement on the UV-5R series.

Does anyone have any experience with this radio? I don't mind paying a little extra for a "nicer" GT-3.

Well, if it matters to anyone they have a new UV-5R variant called the BF-F8+ that is a "Gen 2 UV-5R" I decided to go with this particular one since its similar to the GT-3 component wise, but is built like the UV-5R and should take accessories meant for the UV-5R

Like I mentioned just replace the stock antenna and it will improve the radios performance a great deal, here's one option: http://www.amazon.com/NAGOYA-NA-771-...RK25K31PHZ5K0E

I bought a Nagoya NA-701, the seller suggested it as a great replacement for the factory unit. Is significantly worse?

No I was asking if the Nagoya NA-771 is much worse than the Nagoya NA-701 I bought? I was under the impression the NA-771 was longer (which I didn't want since it doesn't retract) so I went with what I thought was the shorter NA-701.
