Talking 15th Annual Easter Mojave Road trip 2020!

April 10-12-2020!

Okay, medical issues aside, it's time to get the hell out of town for Easter again!!! Sorry for not posting this up sooner...…..but for anyone that wants to go on either the full trip starting at the River, or maybe an abbreviated version...…..post up and let me know!!
I Know that I'll be out there for sure!!

I'm okay starting at a point other than the River and having more time to see other cool stuff, or not. Lets go!!
:tequila :

A local Tucson group (mix of vehicles) went earlier this year and has me wondering about going with them next year, but they are talking January to February time frame. They've got me curious as well so I'm thinking I may need to give this road a shot too! LOL

A lot of personal items going on - will not know if I am available to go until a few days before. I will catch up with your plans if available.

I don't know what NV is doing, but CA has closed all parks and wants everyone staying home, so may want to reschedule.

Hey Dave,
Sorry...…..I already knew you wouldn't be able to go. You especially need to stay home and safe!
I'm going out there, but I don't think I'm going to do the entire road. Going up to Caruthers Canyon to camp probably Friday afternoon.

Well, first off, I already knew you weren't coming!! Lol!!

But, I'm going out there, but I don't think I'm going to do the entire road.....maybe just a few parts of it. Going up to Caruthers Canyon to camp probably Friday afternoon. Then, either pack up and mosey around the park, or just stay there and enjoy the incredible scenery!!

So, if anyone who is healthy wants to get out of the house for a day or two or three, let me know. We can still camp, and keep our distance and y'all (whomever) can escape your self imprisonment...…...at least for a short while!!!

We'll do the Entire Mojave Road in September!!!

Plus, there is literally No way possible to close the Mojave National Preserve, as there are no toll gates and literally hundreds of ways into the park.

I also checked the Mojave Preserves website, and while they can't really close the park, the things they Can close down, are the public places. So, visitors centers, the only two (2) public campgrounds (which we don't use anyway) public restrooms, again.....we don't use anyway...….and, that's about it.

So, pretty good chance that the Annual Easter celebration at Sunrise Cross will be canceled for sure, as it always draws a large crowd, mostly locals who live around there anyway.

We're allowed to camp, just keep our distance which is not all that hard to do. So, maybe no sharing food, or definitely use disposable gloves during all cooking sessions, etc...….

But what they Do stress, besides CDC guidelines, is what most all of us already practice...……LEAVE NO TRACE...…….Pack it in, Pack it out!!!
