Life and the truck are great. Did a bunch of maintenance on the rig over the summer for a big trip we did. Should be good to go for a while now.

So I ended up selling the Gobi roof rack. I ultimately felt a flat rack would suit my needs more. I ended up going with a flat, low profile rack made by Prinsu.

Pros:
Weight, i think it's about 1/2 the weight of Gobi
Flat..allowing me to make trips to home depot easier
Planning for 2 RTTs. We'll have one on a soon to purchase trailer, and the other on the roof. Keeping the rack as low as possible to the roof was the goal
Cross bars are moveable
Less road noise

Cons:
The Gobi had a support at mid length of the rack. This one does not.

A few pics:

Oh you know the usual just getting back to being on the board, I was absent for too long. Like you I also did a bunch of maintenance on the truck recently, replaced a lot of front end components ready to finally go wheeling in a few weeks, it's been too long...

I really like the new low profile rack and as always the truck is looking very sharp!

What RTT's are you looking at? I found getting in them at the Overland Expo really helped see the pro's and con's of each brand. While I have never been in one, the Autohome, seem to have the lowest profile and most durable outer protective cover/shell. BTW, those Demello sliders look great!

Likely from Tepui or CVT. They're fairly local so we'd be able to check em' out in person prior to buying.

Rockbox in salinas. It's one of their demo models. Probably going to go with a CVT Mt Adams in a few weeks

Is your rear tire sticking out really far or is it me?

That's a pretty sweet trailer! Looks like it will be perfect for you guys once you get a rtt on it.
I want one bad. Good to know there's different options and companies. They all seem to be pricey but a base one isn't to bad compared to others.

Just noticed you have color match door handles and the satoshi grill now. Looks killer

It's actually not closed all the way, and probably the angle too.

I actually traded my 11' Ducati M796 in for the trailer. I wasn't riding anymore and it was sitting. So win-win.

We'll be doing the WABDR this June, then going through Canda to Banff, Glacier, Tetons, then home. This thing will come in handy.
