Capstan Winch
As some of you may know I built several capstan winches over the past twenty years. I now have one that I am am totally satisfied with. It works really great for retrieving elk, moose, fallen trees, etc. over great distances. Because it is a capstan winch you can use any length of rope that you need. I have used it with a 600yard rope to retrieve elk up to 425yards away up a steep hill. It only took about an hour (the winch operates at up to 30 feet/minute).
