Thanks to dawgrunner for the great idea for the cargo floor I copied his design and made a floor for myself out of 11 ply finished pine and carpeted it with some marine carpet. Bolted down my fridge slide amd my tie down rails and I'm good to go!

Among a few other small things I did was replace my old set of led turn signals. They were too sunken back and you could barely see them so I found a great set from superbrightleds.com the mount on the triangular pattern for the sw bumper and they protrude thru the hole for better visibility

Between San Antonio and Dallas (outside of Austin) you might check out Hidden Falls Adventure Park. Good trails, well marked, with map and camping there. Check out:

Post up if you're going and I am sure you can find folks to join you. TTORA (Central Texas section) is also a popular forum to round up folks for a trip out there.

I haven't been able to reinstall my skid plates because I stripped some welded nuts on the inside of the tranny cross member so I removed the cross member today and grinded down all the rust and welded in new coupler nuts to support the skids, just need to paint it and them reinstall and I can get the skids back in

Josh,

I'm at my wit's end with the Hella signals that came with the Shrockworks bumper. What a terrible design! Just wanted to confirm if these are the ones you installed:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...-msm-xhp4/588/

I'd ordered other LEDs but as you experienced, they were too recessed and just didn't cut it.

One other question - did you have to add a resistor to run these or was it plug and play?

Thanks! And keep up the incredible work!

Hey sorry I didn't get back to you earlier!

Yes the turn signal drama is very frustrating. Those are the signals I ordered and I this time I actually zip tied them in the holes to make it 10 times easier than the last time..I love these new turn signals they really work great.

As for the resister, yes you do need to install one.

Thanks again!

Josh, Thank you for the info on these!

I absolutely hated those hella turn signals I must have replaced the bulbs 10 times at least because of water getting in the housing. Best of all they were like $13 which was the cost of 2 sets of regular bulbs.

thanks again.

Prepped For Bumpstop Installation

i chopped the stock bump stop mount and grinded it all down nice and clean, then i prepped the strike pad for the curvature of the axle and clearanced it to go around the axle sway bar mount

so after finishing work early today i finished up my bump stop mounts. i took plenty of time to get the geometry right before i started welding. found placement and tacked them into place

cut out some gussets from 1/4" plate (way overkill but it was scrap pieces i had in the garage)

i liked the way it turned out buuuuut i then realized i didnt account for the sway bar! it would barely graze on its upstroke but i wanted to do it right the first time, so i chopped the rear gusset and boxed it in to clear the sway bar with plenty of room

im very happy with the end product, it came out very clean and very strong and everything lines up great!

i also decided that orange was quite working out for the coils because they would catch alot of dirt during driving so i painted them with VHT Chassis Black. i highly recomend this paint to anyone painting frame parts and what not. it can be found at kragen/o reilly/ checkers for about $7.99 a can

i also painted the axle again with the Vht

i know some will ask why i went with fox bump stops versus kings to match the rest and the reason is i was given the can for free (saves $85) and the bump stops are about $80 cheaper per bump so it was quite a bit of savings so i followed the money

U should add a plate on top that cups the can and the bottom as well as the are not recessed into the Frame. Also, fill in the gap under the pads. It will 100% smash in.

im not sure i follow what you are trying to say....

the welds and gussets i have are more than sufficient to handle the load these will take. some applications will just have the can welded with no gussets and some are bolted on and still work equally great

im actually already in the process of forming some tabs that slide in and will fill the gap underneath the pad but i didn't have enough time in the day to finish them so i finished up everything else and will finish that part when i do the limit straps next week (had to get the truck back on its feet for the weekend.
