Default Anyone wheeling in Cali over Memorial Day long weekend?

Wanna get out and about with some peeps.

Open to most adventures mild to wild. Campfire preferrable.

P L E A S E.... .

Have not been out since Adam's little adventure last Easter. Would be up for an outing that includes camping. Maybe not as wild as you can with your 37's and lockers

Cool John! Well letís see if a few more people have interest. I donít need wild trails BTW. Iím hoping there might be a group already planning something that we can drop into but if not I can start planning something.

Nix that John. The guy has the wrong dates. He’s going a week earlier than Memorial Day weekend. Still working on an option.

John - sorry for late notice (was hoping Sherman Pass to Monache Meadow would open Memorial W/E but a storm is on the way this week so we have decided on Death Valley. The main aim will be to hike into Darwin Falls.

Leave Friday lunchtime ish. Hope you can swing it but understand if you can’t. Oh BTW - two nights is all I could convince Zoe of. Sigh.

And the route should be something like this...

Friday 25 - depart greater LA around 2pm
Father Crawley Point
Arrive early evening to get campsite at Panamint Springs
Charcoal Kilns

Saturday 26
Hike to Darwin Falls
(Rainbow Canyon Petroglyphs)
Tea Kettle Junction
Camp Stovepipe Wells

Sunday 27
Sunrise Dante’s View
(Mosaic Canyon)
Zabrinskie Point.
Artists Drive

There’s other points along the way if time permits but I wanted to hit sites I have not seen in many years.

Mark thanks for the trip planning. I'm trying to see if my wife can go as I don't really want to be a third wheel. Sherman Pass to Monache Meadow would have been really nice too bad about the weather. Your itinerary looks good some of which I have not been to before. I'll try to confirm tomorrow.

You can tell her itís not all an offroad affair. Itís mostly sight seeing. Zoeís only doing hard core off-road if itís a day trip. Itís too much for her riding around for days on hard core trails with not much more to do than hanging on Lol

We are in. I will need to bring lots of wine.

Do you think we will need reservations at Panamint Springs?

Awesome John! Errr wine is also awesome lol but what about chocolate mouse - u didnít bring it last outing I recall....hmmmmmm????

I called Panamint Springs and they said they donít take tent site bookings any more. First come first served. Thatís why originally I wanted to leave early so we could get there lunchtime but Zoe has conference calls until 11:30 so we are unlikely to leave before 1pm.

Iíll get in contact with you phone shortly.

Excited!
