Default CB Fender Mount for 4th Gen

I found where someone recommended this mount for the fender in another thread:

http://www.wearecb.com/store/accesso...unt-p-418.html

Can anyone confirm this mount does work for the 4th gen 4Runner, or if I should purchase a different one? I'm trying to avoid running coax through the whole cab. I have the following build list:

-AUC11 fender mount
-3' Firestick Firefly
-Firestick quick disconnect
-9' Firestick coax with firering
-Cobra 75 WXST radio
I'm still torn on the spring. I never ran one on my FJ and used a 3' Firefly II (I believe). It would flex but never snapped. The Firefly is supposed to be lighter, and mounting as low as the hood I think it would have to take a really low branch to damage it (which would hit the cab anyhow, right?). I'd prefer not to have it whipping around the whole ride which is why I am hesitant. It will likely only be used 6-8 times a year.

Any advice?

I have no experience with the mount, but I tried to buy from that seller before on eBay and they sucked (aka Wearcb / CB World / West Coast Mall (they kept emailing me from different email addresses)).

They shipped me the wrong item and I returned it. They said they immediately shipped the right item--but I did not get it for 2 weeks. I emailed to cancel my order, and they said it just shipped out that day and they could not cancel the order. I waited longer--never got it. I'll spare you the further waiting and excuses.

But I finally opened a dispute with PayPal regarding the issue and the seller told me they could not refund my money until the dispute was closed--it dragged on and on.

I would not buy from them again.

Expat had a fender mount, bit moved eventually to a bumper. He didn't have a FF, but had soem issues with the antenna whipping around in rough conditions (I think it hit the truck as well IIRC).

I have my Firefly on the SW bumper with a spring, the light FF antenna doesn't move too much with the spring. I used a Wilson5000 magnet mount on the middle of the roof for quite some time. Got knocked over a few times, but the signal strength was pretty good. I liked the magnet mount as you can remove it, if not in use and have nothing external, the fender mount will always stick out when you wash the truck, etc. I would also be concerned about stress on the fender more than the antenna without a spring.

I mounted my ham on the rear hatch, using a Diamond mount (smaller antenna though). I would look into a rear hatch type mount perhaps.

Dang. I appreciate the heads up but I placed my order with CB World this afternoon. I did use Paypal - had a similar experience as you with a fraudulent website in the past and Paypal saved me. Got an email conf tonight w/ tracking number so hopefully your experience was isolated??

I talked myself out of the fender/hood mount. Since the CB won't be used but 6-8 times a year, mounting on the hatch seemed more discrete. I ordered a Comet RS 720 from cheapham.com and the rest of my list from CB World. We'll see what shows up!

Yes - I meant to post back here. Everything arrived (all the items I ordered, nothing missing or incorrect) on time. I received an invoice immediately and up to date tracking information. I really have no complaints about CB World - perhaps the trouble mentioned above was a fluke? I even asked a couple questions via email and the responses were pretty quick and helpful.

Now I have a pile of goodies (toytec lift, 4 hella lights, OTRATTW switches, cb + accessories...) in my garage and no time to get started!

I had very good luck with my antenna when it was mounted on the drivers side front fender with the hood mount. It is now on my ARB bumper, but it does work good when using a hood mount.
