Default Building an RST Beast

Abu came to us some time ago wanting to do an RST twin stick case and Marlin Crawler Taco box. When the taco box finally came in we got him scheduled to go. Once he showed up with the truck and saw my truck and Ricks truck he was hooked. He asked what it would cost to do a full Beast Edition and after I told him we were off to the races.

First off Abu had already done quite a few upgrades to this rig. Full Icon suspension front and rear, rigid lights and a TRD super charger to name a few.

But now he wanted to get serious.

First it was the RockSolidToys built twin stick case and Marlin Crawler Ultimate Taco box.

Then we started ordering parts. Dynatrac Pro Rock 60 front axle with 5.38 gears, ARB locker, 35 spline inner and outer shafts, one ton knuckles, huge brakes, and Dynaloc hubs with the shortie stub shafts.

Then the rear axle. A Currie Rock Jock 60 with 5.38 gears, ARB Air Locker, 35 spline axle shafts and disc brakes.

Next were the shocks. King 2.5 12" travel coil overs with remote resi's with adjustable compression option. We wanted them black but the supplier screwed up and said it would be two to three months to get them changed and we didn't want to wait that long.

This truck will have the tested and proven RST Three link suspension under it. We'll keep this one low while still running 40" tires. It'll have DeMello-Offroad bumpers front and rear with a host of rigid off road lights to light the way.

To keep the tires under the truck and johny law off of Abu's back we'll be running Glassworks fenders front and rear and yes, the shell stays on.

I'm really looking forward to building this truck. It's going to be one of the funnest we've done.

So we got started.

First the tires came off.

Then all of that expensive Icon stuff.....

Then it was time to cut. We let Abu make the first cut then we took over.

Next it's the grinding part....... I hate the grinding part..... Wheres Abu?

Many times when you come to my place this is what your greeted to. The neighbors just slow down and look for the longest time.....

Stay tuned. Fun stuff is ahead.

Is that an Icon S2 system? What's going to become of those parts?

It is an Icon system. I'm not sure if it's S2 or not. I'll have to check but we will sell it all.

This is going to be a rad build. Also I'm interested in those lower control arms if the bushings are in good shape?

We haven't completely decided yet on the tires but the wheels are going to be the same as they are now only we'll have them bead locked.

Going to have 40" tires. Maybe Iroks or Toyo's but not sure yet.

The bushings are in great shape on the lower control arms. He rarely drove the thing. I think i drove it more just moving it around until we cut it up last weekend....

Let me know how much Abu wants for them? I can pick them up this weekend. I need to replace mine, bushings are trash and I can't get the 3* caster I need out of them. Has me worried since I'm having 35's installed Monday I want to be sure I can clear rubbing on the firewall.

That is the S2 system and it is for sale. I would like to sell the whole suspension set together. The whole kit is comprised of the following:

1. rear bump stops with
2. S2 system
3. Icon Stage 6 with Billet UCA's
