Default AJ's 06 Sport

Then - December 2007
- Front: OME 885/140S
- Rear: DR shocks and springs

Now
- Front: Icon extended travel coilovers with remote reservoirs, Icon UCAs
- Rear: Radflo extended travel 2.5 shocks, Metel Tech springs and bumpstop extensions - bye bye sway bar
- Wheels: 17x8.5 Method wheels with 295/70/17 Toyo MTs

Big thanks goes out to everyone on this supportive forum especially Bulldog, Expat, The_Josh, Mikestang, daPitbull, my034runner, Dawgrunner, UnionJack and Redswan. You guys all helped me with every decision I've made and I appreciate it

Very nice, I really love seeing the new 4Runners getting modded for some offroad use.

How do you like the ride with the OME front and DR rear? Price the reason for not using the DR CO in the front?

thanks!

i personally think that the lift combo that i'm using rides like stock. however, i did notice that the ome's are a little stiffer than the rear Donahoe's, especially over speed bumps. overall, i'm really happy with the setup =)

i didn't want to go with the DR coilovers b/c when i had coilovers on my wrx, the threading was bent by some rocks, and after that happened, i couldn't adjust the height on one of my coilovers. so seeing how more exposed the shocks and springs are, i didn't want to risk that again. also, since i don't drive on any fireroads, and would probably never hit up the runs in baja, the extra $500 that i saved will go into sliders, wheels, tires, etc.

just a teaser pic, but today i got my ar mojave's and 285 cooper discoverers put on =) overall, i'm SUPER stoked about the combo, and i can't wait to get on a trail to get the tires dirty! however, two of the wheels and tires need to be rebalanced b/c the guy that balanced them said he had to put a lot of weights on them, and suggested i get them balanced at a shop that is more familiar with balancing big wheel and tire combos(he didn't charge me for the mounting or balancing of the two).

anywho, i didn't get my 4runner back till it was dark, so this is the only pic that i snapped. i'll take some more pics tomorrow.

got to test out the new tires on this little trail by the house, and the extra height and aggressive tread of the tires made a HUGE difference over stock! here are some more pics:

standard pic:

poser pics:

pic of the front left. i already filed down the corner of the bumpers, but i'll need to file them down some more b/c i rub every now and then when i'm turning and reversing:

Nah... Knowing AJ it's probably a shifter knob j/k

You are building this up all of a sudden

I actually opted NOT to get the shift knob

I've been content with my current setup for a while, but have always wanted to upgrade it. Finally saved up some extra cash for all of the parts that I wanted. Stay tuned!

Yup, the 295/70/17s are awesome. They're surprising quite on city streets compared to my last set of tires which were the Cooper STTs, but then again they had some years on them.

DawgRunner has been running them for a while, so he was able to answer all of my questions before I purchased them. Definitely need aftermarket UCAs and a bodymount chop to prevent any rubbing.
