Default New Cobra 29 LX with Wilson 1000 Roof Mount Antenna

Just got my new CB tested out! I got the Cobra 29 LX radio along with a Wilson 1000 roof mount antenna. I tested out the SWR and the needle barely moves from 1.0 on channel 1, 20, & 40. But when I first tested it half in the garage it was around 1.5 on 40 so I know it's working. With this setup I can hear all sorts of stuff on the radio, but man I didn't realize there were so many jabber jaw idiots talking away on there! LOL So can't wait to test it out with someone local that I know can hear me.

Default

So this weekend a buddy and I went out camping and we got a good test of the radios we got. He's got a Uniden 505 and the Wilson lil buddy antenna. We can get about a 5 mile distance when with clear enough conversation. When he was up on the mountain and I had to run into town for something we were able to talk when I was about 10 miles away.

So I got my CB mounted in the drivers side of the center console using Velcro tape holding it up instead of drilling into the center console. Works well and holds really good, had to use a butter knife to separate it! lol Overall MUCH better than those ****ty hand held radios we had tested and returned back to best buy for not getting even a half a mile out of them!
