Default National Luna dual battery monitor

Is anyone else just using their monitor? I recently completed my dual battery setup and hooked up the BL battery monitor as suggested. Which is positive and negative to each respective battery. What I notice is the monitor remains on even with the truck off and locked.
My concern is I donít drive my truck daily and donít want the monitor on all the time. Has anyone wired in a relay or a timer?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I think most install a turn on/off kill switch (or isolator) for the secondary battery (for when needed) sounds like you may have it just connected directly, which in turn would leave it HOT or on all the time. Is there not a kill switch hooked up?

Is there a difference between the NL dual battery monitor and the NL dual battery controller? Which do you have?

I have the Portable Power Pack which has an isolator to turn it all off when not required.

The battery monitor is just to monitor each batteries voltage. The directions are very simple, take x pair of wires and hook it to the primary (starter batery) and take the second pair of x wires and hook it to the secondary battery. Which is what I did.

What I found after doing some additional research, was a way to turn off the lights on the monitor by holding down the BATT1 and BATT2 for 5 seconds. The monitor lights are no longer on all the time, but I am looking at maybe installed a timer relay to cut power to the monitor.

Darklight, I do not have a kill switch installed on the monitor wiring itself.

I have part number BMS-10211
