Diggin the bumper. It looks a little close to the body though, is there room to adjust up or down on these? You might want to move it down a little.

It's super close! I've thought about moving it down but I don't off road as much as I used to right now and the stuff I'm doing is pretty moderate with not much flex so I'm going to keep it like that for the mall crawler look

It will hit the fender for sure. I have way more space than that and even moderate trails cause it to hit.

That's what I thought and when I ran Browns Camp, more specifically Firebreak 5, I was worried it was going to hit and never did. I need to do a flex test to see how much I need to take it down

A 1/2" to 3/8" gap is where you safely want to be.

Well it has been one crazy roller coaster these last few weeks. Went from possibly selling, to building a bumper, to regear and then back to selling, and back to the bumper, and now....REGEAR!!

Sadly, right now I can't just purchase it all and be done with it but I got my R&Ps purchased. Went with 4.88. While she is my DD right now soon enough I'll get my promotion and have enough money to complete the 4Runner on top of buying a second DD.

Lets hope that promotion comes quick!!

Glad you're stickin with the 'Runner Doug! Can't wait to hear about the regear and locker.

I passed the tire carrier on to the guy I bought my rear bumper from, so it was short-lived. Thanks for the deal. After having a rear bumper installed, I'm beginning to totally understand the regear, and it looks like I'll need to do something in the next two years.

Nice! I love your bumper. Once I regear I'm going to fab up a rear bumper with my girlfriends step dad.

He's making his own Long Arm Kit for his Jeep and when I saw one of his welds I had to ask him "how do you feel about welding up a bumper for my 4Runner?" "Get the supplies and I'll do the work!"

It'll be a long road until I get all the parts but its a start!

Went with 4.88 and think I'm going to be really happy with the low ratio. Only one set of R&P though still have a ways to go.

I went with a 1.5 BL to add to my 3" OME. with 285/70/17's I still rub. Those equal out to almost 33" tires. My assumption would be that 35's will rub without serious trimming, even with a 1.75 BL.

I think I just noobed, and responded to a really old post. lol oops.

I don't know where your rubbing at? I've got a inch bigger tire and the only place that rubs is the body mount when at a certain angle. It could be your upper control arm rubbing if you don't have wheel spacers?

P.s. I know you stole the bumper, but I have to ask. What did it run?

Doug, did you get the new gears installed? If so how does the rig feel now?

I did. Love them! Drives so much more like it did stock. You can just tell it doesn't put strain on the engine and axles. After the 500 mile break in (even though I didn't have to do it, I still did) I went wheeling and it was so much better. Crawled over everything instead of having to make it go over
