Default Broken ball joint on upper A arm

i just broke a ball joint on the upper A arm. it totall exploded. luckily i was in a parking lot so i just backed it into a space.
my question is this. do you guys think this would be covered by the extended warranty i got from toyota when i bought my truck? if it is do you think the fact that i have a OME lift will cause them to say it is not covered.
they have said it would cost around $675 to repair the ball joint but that is without actually seeing it. and they won't tell me if it is covered without looking at it first.

if it is going to cost that much and is not covered by the warranty i might just have it towed home buy some Light Racing Upper A arms and replace it all my self.

What do you guys think?

If you have a suspension lift I'd say Toyota has grounds for warranty denial of an attached suspension part.

If it was me, I'd take the opportunity to replace the UCA at this time.

Yup, you can totally replace both UCAs with aftermarket stuff for a fraction of the cost. Or find almost any shop that works on Toyotas and have them press a new joint in. The joint only costs about $40 and labor shouldn't be more than 1-2 hours.

I'd start by seeing if the warranty covers it. If not, get the Light Racing arms for less than a single new OEM one, and enjoy the enhanced performance/easier alignment. An even cheaper alternative is to buy my used (OEM) arms.

I might take you up on that offer. I can't really afford to drop $450 on the light racing UCAs when I also need new tires. Hopefully the dealer will be able to just replace the ball joint under warranty and I won't have to worry about it.

Either way there is no way I am paying the dealer that much when I can upgrade both sides for less.
