Default gaterose '17 TRD OR Taco Build

Haven't posted here in a while since the was driving the 4R but we traded it in for a '14 Limited a few months back and I talked her into letting me pick this up.

I had a Chevy for a brief period while she was driving the 4th gen -

Will be a more moderate build than my 4R but so far I already have SSO hybrid bumper, BAMF sliders, Icon Stage 1 with ET COs, Camburg UCAs, and 265/75R16 Duratracs on OE wheels

The day I got her

As she sits now

The wife's 5th gen for anyone interested

Thanks guys! Unable to leave well enough alone (and because the Duratracs started riding rough) I decided to up the tires to 255/80R17 Ridge Grapplers on Raceline Clutches.

Did some exploring in the Hill Country of Texas last weekend, followed a KML route from the guys at Texas Overland.

Wait......they have hills in Texas?!?!?!?! That looks like a cool trail though, a little water, a little rocks, a little of sand.

There are a few. Iím told there are even mountains if I go far enough west.

Eh it wasnít really a trail as much as a long dirt road, but it did have some cool features. Definitely some nice scenery though.

Love the new Taco look man. The blue is sweet!
Was it hard moving on from the 4th gen? I am so attached to mine, new build would be fun though. Looking at the third gen Taco and the front end looks pretty similar to the previous and 4th gen Runners.

Thanks man! I like the blue a lot too.

It was very hard letting go of the 4th gen but at 240k I had 2 leaky head gaskets and the tranny was acting funky.

The 3rd gen taco has supporters and haters for the front end, I love it but apparently some of the 2nd gen guys absolutely hate it.

I will say that compared to my wife's 5th gen the ride is a little rougher, the interior is a little more cramped (the Taco is about the same size inside as a 4th gen while the 5th gen feels a lot roomier) and the 3.5L motor feels a little less powerful, even though on paper it is stronger. I wanted a truck and have been wanting a Taco for several years so I'm ok with it. That said, if I hadn't wanted the bed and jeep-like aftermarket support, I would've gone with a 5th gen.
