Yes, that's right, we are calling all the troops to the fire pits and trails of Big Bear.

Who: the 120 forum family

When: August 27-29

Where: Big Bear, CA - Tanglewood Group Campsite 8 vehicle limit but we can squeeze in a few extras (Take I-10 (Highway 330) to Running Springs. Turn onto Highway 18 and continue to Big Bear Lake Dam. Continue on Highway 38 for 8 miles. Turn left on Van Dusen Canyon Road (Forest Route 3N09) and drive for 4 miles. Turn right onto Forest Route 3N16 and travel approximately 2 miles. Take a right on Forest Route 3N79 and continue approximately 0.8 miles to the campground.)

What: all trails from mild to wild, food overload, and drinks till you collapse!

Why: Because we all miss those epic trips of years passed

The camp ground is still to be decided. I was up scouting the area a couple weeks ago and many of our most loved sites are still closed but the weekend I was there, they had just opened some of the locked gates so expect we should be able to book a good site soon.

I don't want to get too prescriptive on what trails we may run but rest assured there are trails for all levels from novice to advanced.

We may do a simple menu planner for Saturday night.

Abu and I have been talking about this for several months and ITS TIME.

Can't wait to be hanging out by the fire and catching up with each other. Its been waaaaaay tooooo long.

Post up your interest and in the meantime Abu and I and anyone else who wants to can work out all the details.

Hmmmmmm, have to see what is going on that weekend. It's a month before our other epic trip, The Annual Mojave Road trip......but seeing that we couldn't get any of you people from Kal out for the last two......don't see much use in posting it here, as no one cared apparently.

But we haven't been to BB in years. I have to see if I can get some skids before then, but pretty sure there's no way to get a front bumper made by then.

I should also address the COVID situation.

It is a decision on your behalf whether to be vaccinated or not. Likewise it is on you to decide about wearing a mask or not.

At this stage, it is likely Cali will go the same as the federal statement that if vaccinated fully, there is no need to wear a mask.

Expecting this, it still likely that some people will wear masks and others not. It will be assumed that if you are attending, you have tested negative for COVID within the past 14 days prior to the trip. No proof required.

It will also be assumed that if you are attending you may chose to, or not, wear a mask. That is your decision and no-one will feel pressured to conform to other peoples' expectations.

Similarly, group meals will be limited to the Saturday night dinner food fest! If you want to participate feel free to do so. If you don't wish to, bring food for yourself and your invitees.

Finally, we are all adults (to varying degrees lol) so we expect each other to behave as such (in relation to COVID!)

From my personal experience this past few months, few people are wearing masks while off-roading and camping.

I'm good, had my second shot two (2) days before we went to the Mojave for Easter week.
Haven't worn a mask any time I'm outside.....only inside work, stores, etc.....

End result, now that the CDC has relaxed the masks rules, our store has adapted as well, so have many casino's and stores such as Costco, etc.....

Just need to use common sense, and really......if you want to play with others......get the Fu(king Shot(s)!!!!

I already have one conflict, the 27th is my brothers Birthday. Have plans on taking him out for his b day, as there was no place to go last year. And this year, he's actually off work!
Any chance for the weekend Before? Certainly also would Not be able to go Labor Day weekend...….it's our busiest weekend in the car business!

Not sure what the last campsite was but we have been here before. Its dirt road that comes to a dead-end with the campsite on either side of the parking in the center. I'm sure the teardrop would have no problem. Quite secluded.
