FS: '03 4Runner Sport Edition Wheels w/Tires in CT

For sale are FOUR 17" wheels from my 2003 Sport Edition with Bridgestone Dueller Tires (265/65/17). The tires have a good amount of tread left, according to my fiance who is a mechanic (he says about 50%). They were rotated as they should be by him.

The wheels have no scratches or curb rash; the only issue they do have is the Toyota recall regarding the paint on the inner rim. It isn't that bad, between about 3 spokes per rim, there is flaking and bubbling. I'll be happy to provide more pictures of this if anyone is interested in the wheels; I have a picture of one wheel/tire and one of the flaking/bubbling, it's pretty much the same all around. I will try to get better pictures up tomorrow; you can see residue from tire shine on the wheels in the pictures if you look.

The wheels are located in New Fairfield, CT (06812), which is on the NY boarder. I won't ship them, separate the set, or separate wheels from tires. I'd be willing to meet anyone half way or set up something like that.

Those are pitted pretty bad. How did that happen and how do I prevent it from happening to mine.

Good luck w/ the sale. I imagine the tires are worth more than the wheels though.

Since his state is listed as Connecticut, I would hazard a guess it was caused by road salt.

I re read his post and saw a reference to a tsb or a recall as well. I haven't heard of one for the wheels pitting like that. I do a fair amount of beach runs and mine are fine. I would not be happy if they started a down hill run and turn out looking like those. Not at all.

Thats what my GX wheels looked like before refinishing them($400) How does Toyota and Lexus allow this to happen? I took it back to Lexus and they said it was due to acid based wheel cleaners and would not replace them. 75% of the GX470's on the road have the same pitting. What a crock. $60k trucks and the wheels look like SH-T.

There was never any recall on this, but it is common to see wheels like this in areas that use road salt.

And the $600 asking price is very high to say the least.

I was thinking $300 would be a fair price. $600 with tires on mint rims would be good.

The OP did say they were open to offers. Maybe if someone's interested that's what they should do rather than carry on regarding pricing in this post. You could also PM the poster with pricing comments but it's generally considered bad form to do so within their public posting.

OK. I just thought comments were welcome on all forums. No bad mouthing here, Just honest opinions/comments. No disrespect intended.
