Big Bear Braai Meal Planning 2007

One of the great things about our previous Big Bear Braii trips has been the food. Everyone has pitched in to collaborate on some wonderful banquets. This year it looks like we will have 10-12 persons. If everyone selects 3 of the items below and brings enough for 6-12 persons we can continue the tradition. If you sign up for Friday dinner be sure that you are in camp early enough to prepare your meal. If you are going to be pulling in late to camp on Friday better to sign up for Saturday. This is just a guide to make sure we have a well rounded feast. Feel free to make adjustments to it if there is something you really want to bring. For example, if you want to bring an appetizer but the slots for appetizers are already full just add another slot. Have fun and as Julia Child would say, “Bon Appetite”!

I will add myself to the list a bit later. I will probably get out early Friday so I can sign up for Friday and Sturday dinner.

Thanks for starting this thread Ed. I was going to do it when I got home tonight and got situated, but as you can see, that is now....

This has also worked wonders for many of our other trips, such as the Mojave Road and Jawbone.

I'll have to think about what to bring. Andries said that Saturday is the Big Braai, and no warming up stuff that's already pre-coked or pre-prepared.

Maybe I can reverse what I usually do.

Off Topic: This weekend I am putting in my hydraulic winch and next weekend I am going to Needles (Fort Mohave) to scout for dove hunting. I have never been ther before so I want to run down and look at the crops.

Oh ya we will definately feast well, I got aa couple things in mind and should be to get them in bulk order from local supplier but I need to know for sure that we can have an open fire at campsite (prefered method) or a very large charcoal grill which i do not have, so I need the fire.

Are you going to hunt the res and/or what state and good luck I was hoping to hunt dove with you but I'm going to hunt opening day in Nevada near Cali state line as always easy to bag the limit. I am however going to get Arizona license this year for quail and dove.
