My next 4Runner soon.

I like them All!! But yeah, initially, the SR5 and Limited both had the way too low bumpers and cladding, then recently, they changed up the SR5 to make it closer to the TE/Off Road packages had.

When you're ready for your next one, just let me know.

Running boards on a stock toyota. I watched my 5'6 70yr old dad get into my FJ back when it was stock and he never used them. I almost bought a 6speed FJ with the dealer installed 6" lift, winch bumper and horribly cheesy chrome rims wrapped in 35s. I asked my dad to jump into that one and had no problems. Im glad i passed on that turd. Rusty under body, crooked fender gaps and cheesy dealer installed accessories. I really wanted the manual but I'll end up converting my FJ in the future with the manual from a donor 2016+ taco. Love that transmission hate that torqueless wonder its bolted to.

I just thought of something. Im going to bring a tarp and 4 ratchet straps to hook to all 4 corners and ratchet strap the tarp to our roof racks with our trucks spread out to act as a big awning. This way we all get shade... the ghetto way.

Well, I guess we could do that, but where we're camping on Friday @ about 6800 feet elevation.........is covered by big Pine and Oak trees..........so probably won't need to do that.
Now, if it somehow rained.......I guess we could do that, as we have done far more extreme things like that in the rain before.......But, depending how the weather is Saturday, is going to dictate where we're camping at. I'm thinking if it's still hot Saturday, then we're going to camp in another tree covered mountain area on the other side of the mountains from Fridays camp. It's probably the second or third best camping spot in the park. Not exactly on the Mojave Road (Neither is Fridays spot).......but we'd take a short cut bypass Sunday morning and get back on a less bumpy section of the Mojave Road and continue on towards Afton Canyon.......

So I was wondering what the little drip of oil was coming from the front of my034Runner, as it seemed like an odd spot, and all of the fluids we're just changed in July. Well, it turns out, that my lower ac line has rubbed a little hole in it.......and the ac oil has splattered everywhere. The odd thing is though, that the ac has been blowing cold.......even today!! But, seeing that it's still going to hot in the lower parts of the trail, I had to order a new line.......again! It happened once before, On This trip......on the hottest day of the entire weekend, and although it did suck for me, it sucked way worse for my dogs at the time, had to put them in other people's trucks that year until we got to Afton Canyon campground, then the rest of my time out there (Stayed out Sunday/Monday then too) and it was beautiful and didn't need the ac then.
So, long ass winded story of my ac line is leaking and I have to fix it!

Well, I think this second New line is going to have to get the same treatment! If you're is wrapped in rubber, I'm sure it's fine. The last time it broke, was on Sunday afternoon......right before we entered Soda Lake.......hit another big launch pad of a dip, came down hard, and there she blew!! Went from being a nice 60* inside to an oven!! That time it had been rubbing on my ARB compressor inside the bumper, and that last hard hit did the trick.
This time, apparently, it's been rubbing on a hard edge inside the bumper........at least I spotted it now instead of Sunday going across Soda Lake again!! Also, may have another truck going. He isn't a member yet, but that's about to change......he is bringing his cool Bobbed (took the bed off and added a lot of steel work) reg cab Tacoma. So, it'll be interesting to see where he puts everything.

I just got back in town yesterday so i didn't have a chance to install all my fancy undercarriage armor. I did install my back bumper, hooked up my camp lights that I've neglected for a year and wired up my fridge in a quick and crude way. I'll have to deal with it next month. I was bummed to find out my dirty parts disl battery kit isn't going to fit in my setup and i did kinda beat it up trying to force it so now i can't return it.

I'll be leaving Norcal around 2am and getting to the meetup point early. I tore my old tent so now i gotta stop by and purchase one in Barstow or someplace along the way.

See you guys tomorrow.
