Default Medic83 in Alameda

Saw Phil (Medic83) pulling out of the Nob Hill parking lot in Alameda around 12:30 today. I was just pulling in to get gas. Man that thing is a beast!

As I was headed to work I saw a lifted 3rd gen black 4runner heading over the Park st. bridge.

After that I got curious all day while I was at work, so on the way home I took the tunnel and drove by the Boztec shop and sure enough the NorcalFJs guys were having a work day. Stopped in and said hello and they said I had just missed Phil. Here are a few pics I took with my cell. Looks like a lot of fun. Im even more jealous now and embarrassed that all I had was a stock 05 .

@ Phil..I almost stopped by today when I heard they were there, but ran down to see Chuck @ToyCon. If I'd known you had the day off I would've stopped no matter what. I blew my steering stabilizer this week and it sucks on that section of 880 having the steering bouncing all over, so I figure it's the same age as the shocks. Remind me to hit you up for a hand when I finally get the new stuff in, budget allowing.

Bump..

I spotted Phil in two places last night!!

First in Safeway, then on my coffee table!
~I refuse to let him into my bathroom..

Phil, they're at the Safeway at Jarvis/Newark Boulevard, let me know if you want me to try to grab a copy before they sell out, there were only 5 of the issues at my store and the only reason I got this one was Nick called to tell me it was there.

*Anyone else wanting to grab the magazine, it's the 4x4 Garage Presents Toyota Issue, on-shelf is through 12/20/11 so if outed locally you can try calling Wright's Media @ (877)652-5295. There isn't an ISBN, but the barcode reads (12 digit) 0 70992-38421 1 with the small barcode reading 45.

Also in the same issue is Ben Lawlay's FJ-Cruiser, Wagner's article on the TC Link Arms on a 3rd Gen 4Runner (Not sure if it's Harry's or what), Eric Bibelheimer's 2nd-Gen 4Runner, and Randy Ellis's DC-Tacoma.

Yeah, its a pretty cool mag. Its a quarterly magazine, so you cant find them all the time. Harry emailed me they were on shelves yesterday. The article is cool.... a few equipment mess ups but I dont really care. U should be able to get the mag at your local Barnes & Noble as well as Kragen auto

Umm, Barnes and Noble?

They went the way of ^Border's^ recently, at least out here.

~I did see the errors on the specs, but figured it might just be old outdated info. Still cool article and a decent shot of ya driving.

*IMHO it is really sort of cool, and a little scary how most of the time these days if any of us picks up a magazine like 4WDTO or 4x4/Off-Road there's gonna someone in the Toyota Community we know personally. Rick's (Bovad) chopped 4Runner was in the last issue of Petersens, same sort of mistakes on spec though.

The day will come really soon where we'll all be a little older sitting around a campfire bull****ting about "Back in the Day When We Were All Just Starting Out and Nobody Drove a Toyota or Took Us Seriously."

Oh wait a sec, I take that back, I think or even know I've heard Mikey or Marlin already say that.
