Default Bike Carrier with Aftermarket Bumper

Hey guys, thought I would see if anyone here had some advice for me.

I'm getting into mountain biking and about to make a purchase of my first full suspension bike.

Are any of you that have a aftermarket (CBI, etc) bumper also carrying your bike?

What are some of my options for this?

Thanks for any input!

Doug

I had a Thule tray rack for my full sus bike with my 4x4 labs. I had to get a hitch extension and even then could only car one bike.

Doug, I noticed your using 4x4Labs swingout attachments on your rear bumper. Luke (4x4Labs) sells a dual bike carrier kit for $195.00 if you want to weld it yourself and $295.00 finished. Cheapest route, transport the bike inside the truck if you have room.

Contact Luke and tell him you want a Version 2 bike carrier! It will hold 2 bikes. You will need to attach it to a swing arm on your current custom bumper. You can also get Luke's swing arms.

Wait do you already have Luke's swingout arms?

Sorry I don't have any pictures of mine mounted yet, You can see what it looks like on Bimrunners set up though. Luke tested mine out on his 5th gen. He made it so it does not sit as high as shown in these pictures. It is pretty cool

I do have lukes swing outs. I added them to my bumper.

I currently have the tire carrier and two jerry can carrier attached.

Does this mean that you can just swap out the jerry can carrier with the bike carrier by simply unbolting and re attaching?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Doug, Lukes bumpers are a modular system. Add what you want to carry, Un bolt and leave behind what you don't want.

Sweet! Also, version one bike carrier removes the tire and mounts to a peg. Version two bike carrier you do not have to remove the tire. You do need to use a moto type strap on the bike to hold it to the carrier. The tire sits in a half circle mount. It's pretty darn cool
