I haven't really been online at all for a while. Thought Id post some updates. Been mostly interior stuff, I cut the big stinger off the front and did a lower one, added some steel mesh in the triangle holes. Blasted to the bumper and re powder coated it. Cleaned up all my wiring. My buddy hooked me up with an spod... his parents own the company. If any of you havent heard of it, its a very clean setup if you plan to run lots of accessories. Also ditched that bulky overweight cobra 75 cb. My buddy made me a nice coax line using some rg8x coax. I got a Uniden BC980 CB with SSB. It was a pain to mount, but the install turned out super clean in my opinion. Got some new seats, and then shampooed the carpets.
Built a new roof rack (Might put it up for sale) very Low profile, mesh floor. Building a new cross member as well. I had some time off work so things got done. Seats are from a fairly new Urban Runner. Very nice and comfy. I didnt have power seats and had to run power to them, the plugs were already there though. I have the dash center speaker that is the external speaker for the cb.

Thanks man! They really are extremely comfy. They look really nice in person too. I was a little reluctant on buying them because they looked so damn nice! Im happy I got them though. Never even seen an urban runner. Thought they were like unicorns.

How about a pic of the roof rack? Been wanting to build one that's sounds very similar to yours. Just flat.

Those seats are very nice but they don't hold up to the abuse a child will put them through, lol.

On the sPOD, how did you get the 6 switch to fit in the overhead glass holder? You must of fabbed up some kind of inside holder for it to remount. There was not enough room on mine to get it to work with out cutting out the mounting points on the inside of the holder door itself. I was going to fab something up but decided to put it in the lower console area instead. It looks good there too.

I would love to see an inside shot of how you mounted it.

Here is mine,

Bobby

Bobby, the switch panel will not fit without some modifications. I never used the sunglasses holder. I had some glasses up there and they hot smudged on both sides, so it was un used. My buddy has a Tacoma and he had a bracket Made for it. We made another for mine. It then gets bolted to the inside where the sunglasses holder was. I think he has another or can have more made.

Thanks man, interesting about the bracket. I was thinking some kind of slide bar or something semilar inside. If I decide to run a second sPOD in the future I will hit you up.

Here I've been thinking of rear coilovers and wondering why the other guys that have done SAS haven't run them and I see you are! How do you like them? It seems like it would be an easier package then a shock and coil setup. and more tuneable.

When I first did the swap, I ran coil and shocks on the stock housing in the rear with the 3 link. I bent that housing and totally re-did the rear as well as the front. I did go wider but the linkage was about the same, just went a few inches longer on the links. The coil overs in the rear were a bit tricky. I was trying to avoid goining inside the cab. I had to add a larger body lift to avoid this. I think it's a 2"...I can't remember. The coilovers are mounted off the back side of the axle at an angle up to the shock tower. I'm thinking of changing it up a bit. It works great and I've been very happy. But I have some ideas that I just can't get out of my head....not sure when, but I will probably start on it soon. I've been super busy. I thing Dave (crozhawk) ended up doing coil overs on his. Don't quote me on that but I thought he did. I have been pretty busy and haven't had much time for the forums. I'm running 12" coilovers in the rear and 14" in front. I am not happy with the coil rates. I originally built it with different bumpers, no front sway bar. My current rear bumper is quite a bit heavier...maybe like 80- 100 lbs more then add on accessories. So I need to really tune the shocks and get my coils right. I need to do the same for the front. I want to change up my front as well. I don't thing the coil over setup is harder....I think this is the best route to go if u are going to do this swap.

The stickers most likely will be coming off. I just have not been getting many trips in but that seems to be changing this year. And it's a shame for her to just be sitting in the driveway.

Man....I felt the same way last year...2014. I didn't get to Pismo in 2015... But I did hit the rubicon and fordyce multiple times along with other runs. The truck needs some work. I sold my trailer.... I'm building a new one and doing lots of things to the truck. I'm getting back into the swing of things. I know how u felt. Don't sell it man. It looks great. Let's hit up some snow wheelin. Shoot me a message with ur cell. We can hook up. I live in Lincoln now so I'm super close to the mountains. Are u at mission? What watch are you?

I have a 2.5" body lift, so no problems there. I actually like that it gives me more room to move things around and especially to clean up the dirt and crud underneath when needed.
I have some questions and will send you a pm so I don't clutter up your page here.
