I would like to introduce the Speski OffRoad LTD Barrier for 4th gen 4Runners.
Cost: $375 to your door in the lower 48. Residents of Colorado will have sales tax added. As I am new around here a little background would be in order. I have been producing barriers for the 80 series Land Cruisers for over 6 years now. A little time over on IH8MUD.com would yield many happy customers and positive reviews. I have been part of the Land Cruiser community for over ten years and worked in the automotive business for 6 years. I spend most of my time wheeling the San Juan mountains of Colorado, Southern Utah, and Northern New Mexico. Speski Offroad can also be found on facebook. I was approached by a member of this forum in 2011 to design a barrier for his 4th gen. After nearly 9 months of design work I have completed the barrier design. The barrier its self is built from 3/4" square steel tubing and a heavy duty welded wire. It mounts using the OEM captured nuts in the later model 4th Gen models (2006+) where the coat hanger or 3rd row grab handle is placed by Toyota. Mounting my barrier does not require any drilling or modifications to your vehicle. The unit is professionally powder coated in a crinkle black finish. My design allows for your 2nd row seating to be folded for the transport of longer items without removal of the barrier. This design should also work with most drawer designs. And as you can see from the pictures the OEM cargo cover also works. At this time fitment is designed around 2006 and newer 4Runners. I am still in the process of determining fitment options on earlier models. I build all these by hand in Durango Colorado. Turn around time is generally 6 weeks from order date to ship date. However I am going to do my best to keep a few in stock if possible for immediate shipment if at all possible. Speski OffRoad does not recommend using this barrier with passengers seated in an optional 3rd row or in vehicles equipped with side impact air bags. Mounting or hanging additional items from the barrier is also not recommended. To purchase visit www.speskioffroad.com Or send a PM/email to speskioffroad(at)gmail.com Please include: Name Address Phone I will send you a paypal invoice for payment. Shipping is via FedEx ground, insured with signature required. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks. Last edited by Corbet; 09-19-2016 at 07:00 PM. In your design, did you consider making it moveable so it could be placed behind the first row too?

I did not. My friend who loaned me his 4th gen to design this sold it. So I can't even try to see if it would fit as is. I will try the next time I have access to one. Sorry I don't have a better answer.

Could you make one for a 5th Gen 4Runner? If so mark me down for one. If you make one for a 2012 jeep Grand Cherokee as well mark me down for two. Thanks!

I'm currently unable to design around side impact air bags due to safety concerns. Both those vehicles are so equipped.

Do you have a design in work for the earlier configuration 4Runner 2003-2005? I would be interested. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, not at this time. The earlier models only have one captured nut in the roofline. I have not had the time nor access to an earlier model to work out a different solution
