Default 2014 TRD Tacoma Shocks on an 2003 4Runner V8

I have a full set of TRD shocks with front springs from a 2014 Tacoma. They were take offs from an upgrade on my brother's rig.

I'm wondering if they would fit my 2003 4runner V8? I have already spec'ed OME 895E coils springs for the back to replace the stock air suspension springs. I'd also like to install Firestone air bags in the coils to correct for heavy loadings when I do backcountry travel.

Are they similar to Bilstein 5100 shocks which fit the 2014 Tacoma? At least on the websites they are in the same fit family.

What is the adjustment range on the TRD shocks?

The front struts have TRD springs installed. Are they longer than stock springs for a increase in height?

I'd like to do a mild lift 1.5-2 inches, and keep a slight forward rake in the stance.

Thanks for your feedback!

YEAP< Plenty of post on this on the forums< fronts will fit without any modifications< I currently run 2015 Tacoma front strut assembly and the progressive rate TRD offroad springs/shocks and a 2.5" top spacer - got around 3.25 of lift with this.

There are NO adjustment range they are Bilstein HD shocks, not 5100 shocks which are adjustable in height only.

The front struts with the TRD springs are progressive rate, and yes they do raise the front a bit - between .75 and 1" on the front.

for the rear shocks - they actually make a shock extension for pretty cheap that would allow you to run the Tacoma shocks with the OME lift coils you have in the back " assuming you have the 3" lfit coils" and not limit your travel, but to install the Tacoma rear shocks you have to press out the lower bushing, and put in the Energy suspension bushing which is extremely easy if you have a bench vise or c-clamp even.

Thanks for the info. I think I will go for the fronts defintely..

For the rears, What are the sizes for the shock extension and the lower shock bushing or bushings?

I see a 10x1.25 mm and a 10x 1.5mm shock extension available.

The main concern with the backs is that I'm using 1.5" OME springs, so i won't have 3" of lift to work with. That sounds like a deal killer for the application.

Nope for the 1.5" don't even need a shock extension! I have 1.5" lift in the read
