Default 4th Gen CB Antenna Routing Question

I am installing a CB radio in my '05 for an upcoming Mojave Road trip and already installed a CBI antenna mount on the passenger side. I would like to install the radio on the drivers side of the transmission tunnel and am having trouble finding a clean install route for the antenna. There is a hole right next to the mount (bolts on at hood hinge install point) for the wiper fluid hose to go in behind the firewall, and have spent some time trying to fish the antenna lead through there and into the passenger compartment under the dash. There are a few holes in the right sidewall behind the glove box that I am hoping to route it through, but am not sure if weatherproofing/seals etc. will prevent these two spaces from connecting. Has anyone else made a clean install from this location? Should I just go underneath and pop in the side of the shifter housing instead? There is a significant water crossing this time of year, so I am not interested in messing up any seals.
