Just figured I would start a thread to see who all on here is going to be at the 2012 Lone Star Toyota Jamboree next weekend in Gilmer, TX. According to the roll call it looks like there are 23 4Runners so far... but we are vastly outnumbered by the FJ's.
Anywho, I'm traveling solo to this. Look forward to meeting some of y'all. I plan on arriving Thursday late afternoon. No clue on the camping situation, but hopefully Thursday afternoon/evening is early enough to get a decent spot. Any advice is welcome. -Hal

I'll be driving up early Fri morning, with the goal of making the first trail run of the day. I'll be in the shadow mica 4R.

Sounds good. I'll be driving down early Friday morning as well now. Will be in a silver '06. I found these camp tips on the FJ forum -
"1. TTR is reserved for club members only. 2. Old Camp may or may not have a porta potty depending on weather conditions at the time of the event. 3. DFWTX 4x4 has a large covered pavillion and several concrete fire rings for campfires. It will most likely be designated as the family camp again. Meaning that there is a mandatory quiet time of 10:30pm. 4. Xterra is probably the smallest of camping areas 5. Electric Camp is for RV and pop-up camping 6. Rover Camp is large with lots and lots of trees. Best known for the Jambo parties of 2009 and 2010. Many livers and ears were damaged those two years. 7. SHR Camp became party central in 2011. I don't know that anyone got any sleep. 8. No name camp off of Linda Gail. On the map, but no longer maintained by any offroad clubs. It will be available and is centrally located."

Hopefully, I'll see you all there and be looking out for 4runners!
Going with a body in his white 96 lifted/locked Taco . We'll be down late Friday night hopefully in time for a night run. I'll be manning the HD video recorder and taking pics and also making sure he doesn't drink and drive by drinking it all myself! ![]()

"The Party Camp will be at the "High Roller Camp" which is located between TTR and Rover Camp. Same place where all the fun was had last year. Rover Camp was the original Party HQ and the name kind of followed. There has even been a Rover Camp at other events, but it only meant that was were the party was." I will most likely end up there so I'll meet some folks since I'm going solo. 4R is packed and ready to go bright and early tomorrow morning.

Was planning on going but something came up Friday and Sunday. $100 for one day is a little steep for me.

I also have been meaning to post some pics. I had a busy work week and family is in town this weekend, but I will get to it in the next few days.
For a non-visual review: Weather Friday was sloppy and rainy. The power at the park was actually out when i arrived at 10am or so. I didnt have to wait long until security forced the gate open, though. Saturday was clear, sunny, and perfect. I was surprised how much the park dried out overnight. Nice park, good camping (multiple camp areas), lots of friendly folks, and tons of expensive raffle prizes that I didn't win. Dinner both nights was provided, which made things easier. A lot of good sponsors were in attendance - Demello, Marlin Crawler, RockTek, Baja Racks, TRDParts4U, US Off-Road, and several others. Highlight of the trip for me was riding in Demello's 4Runner late Saturday night as he drove like a bat out of hell down the main dirt access road in the park with 4 of us in the truck. Holy hell, we were all hanging on for dear life, but a great time. The Motley Crue blasting added to the effect. That high dollar Icon stuff (stage 4?) really soaked up the bumps. Definitely will attend again. Met a lot of good people. -Hal
